i started with LOGO 'programming' (in public school amazingly) in first grade (6 year olds), and there was plenty of other computer exposure prior to this.
notably, oregon trail and where in the world is carmen sandiego. and mario teaches typing (which was pretty musical if i recall). LOGO was approached entirely as a game, i didn't realize we were writing very simple code until much much later. it was just making the turtle move to me, and art.
being 3-4 and being a 'gamer' back then doesn't sound too outlandish, sounds about right oregon trail was the best game ever, and it was essentially just multiple choice. and tons of death and disease.
ohhhhhhh, wait. LORD. legend of the red dragon. BBS. i mean, i was 9 or 10 then, but still. that was some fun
anyone play this back in the day?
too funny
something in the realm of time manipulation
delay, S&H, looping. something which alters the linear nature of the song, the sample, whatever
yeah, we really should, we're working on things which sound incredibly familiar to one another (storage type, no proprietary parts, etc). might even be able to share on parts orders (or, if the cut-out on cart shells is in the same spot, share cartridge shells or do that design together, i haven't done this shell design yet)
very exciting
(just in case the edge connector bit was misunderstood.... i'm talking about the DMG types. not the SMT versions, modified, or anything like that. so they fit into a DMG case fine, and don't need the side tabs trimmed or anything. if you change your mind let me know!)
cart connectors are still being manufactured, btw, if you needed help in sourcing let me know although the MOQ isn't very low. i could help split that, i need them as well
but, available for sure. new parts. not pulls.
if ti comes to it, i wouldn't mind administering some way to raise funds for him if he doesn't wish to do this directly (i only offer because i think my track record is good enough people should maybe not find this alarming i'd offer to collect money, and be honest about it)
indiegogo may be better
or a paypal 'donate' button
if i can help, i'd be happy to do this.
put the cases in the 'clearance' section down to $5
perfect for painting, or laser etching!

there are only slight cosmetic flaws (specs of color in the white plastic, stress marks from de-molding), so if you're looking for a cheap platform for painting these would work very well.
there are no structural issues whatsoever. entirely cosmetic.
thats crazy cheap
its miles from being a replacement for midines
i have yet to hear a positive review, tbh. seems to have been disappointing all around
Overall for the two years we waited, I'm extremely disappointed in overall features and usability.
It's more of a novelty product than anything really useful as far as live chiptune use or otherwise.
Mine sits in its shiny box in which I will probably put it up on eBay and hope to get my money out of it.
can't the encoders simply be replaced?
pretty easy part to find, unless they are something proprietary they've used
ahahaha
yeah, that does it
this was just released it seems: http://www.critterandguitari.com/products/rhythm-scope
good timing, not so great a pricetag
ok, then perhaps the design should be compatible for both... i *think* the only real change would be whether one solders the other RCA jack on, or fly wire to the pot, but i haven't really looked at the specs too closely yet to catch other things
