this was very cool.  went from being groggy this morning to having a little dance in my step.  thanks!

and awesome video too, really compliments the song well.  the central 'balls' remind me of Bit from the original tron.  the yes/no over-the-shoulder binary, thing.  like he was inspired and broke out of his shell when hearing your song!

getting.album.now.  gonna be a fun day with this release

wow.  how long does google allow disputes to be taken up?

i've not had good experiences with google's checkout system, it seems pretty ripe with fraud.  then again, so does paypal at times...

just curious...

if you're just doing midi out then you can skip it,

if its midi in, you'll need it to avoid voltage issues, the IC does literally its name (isolates this part from the rest of the circuit, optically).

you're basically separating the MIDI part (midi-in) from everything else by giving it a light buffer.  voltage spikes or irregularities coming from the midi-in line are mediated this way.

there was a company named 'supervision' which created carts like this for various consoles.

their NES carts are not too uncommon.  multi-game carts with a simple menu.  sort of like clone PSPs nowadays, they may say 200-in-1 or whatever, but generally have the same dozen or so games repeated in the list.

not sure if this is a supervision product, but its got the look and the sticker style is right up their with their other bad designs...

they will be available in the light grey first (at least thats the plan as of now),

with other colors to follow smile

if you *ever* get rid of that cart, please let me know smile  i'm always looking for different designs like this for ideas and reference...

cool find!

care to open up the cartridge and post pics of the PCB?

onto the shell, double-sided tape works perfectly.

it sits directly below the start/select buttons.  the circuit board is shaped to fit underneath them, the lights shining up into the buttons,

you'll need to trim away a tiny section of the plastic wall surrounding the start and select buttons though, to let the light shine into the silicone.

i'm up for whatever expansion/alternative/DIY/hack PCBs/parts that come out for this project...

i've really had great luck with a straight razor and getting it off this way.  as if it were a vinyl sticker on your car window...  so hold the razor at a sharp angle so you don't scratch the plastic...  a sharp one, with no dents or damage to the blade,

however....  lately i've been playing around with using fine grit sandpaper here, after most the old adhesive has been taken off.  it covers up any minor scratches you may have made, gets rid of the last of the dry adhesive, and also makes a better clinging surface for the new screen protector.

if you try this, wash your case afterwards, it will remove the very fine plastic powder (which can cause the new adhesive to not stick as well).

two years old is long enough for a cart battery to weaken enough.  it could possibly be this, BE SURE to back up your sav file (and check it for corruption on an emu if you can, or another cart) before you change the battery.  you'll loose all your sav switching the battery out, which doesn't matter if you've backed it up correctly to begin with smile

it really doesn't sound like this though, but in your situation i'd either commit to troubleshooting it in any way possible, or try to get another cart to use before the gig.  borrow one even.

how old is the cart?

it doesn't sound much like a cartridge battery problem though...

although!  it might be weak batteries in your console.  try changing those
