Will the MSSIAH work on a NTSC C64?
I'm not sure. I guess so?

Will the MSSIAH work on a NTSC C64?
I'm not sure. I guess so?
Any interest in this? It's still for sale and, now I have a SammichSID, it seems even more redundant. Shame really.
I hate to stir the already troubled waters in this discussion but I have to say something.
All of my NES software, NTRQ, Pulsar and PR8 were developed and released for anyone to use free of charge. In the past I've had people want to, for example, make and sell cartridges with my software on. They have respectfully contacted me and asked my permission and in some cases, where appropriate, a portion of the money made from the sales has been donated to my chosen charity.
This project was brought to my attention by another CM member who spotted that the creators intend to use NTRQ on it and are actively using this fact in their marketing.
They are effectively, thus, making a commercial product out of my free software without even so much as contacting me to ask permission.
Of course, by releasing my software publicly, for free, anyone is able to do what they like with it and nobody really needs to ask for permission. I would, however, given the amount of time and effort that went into NTRQ and for which I have (willingly) not been paid a penny, that I would at least be afforded a little respect from anyone wishing to make a derivative commercial product from it.
Nothing of mine on there but the bastards are selling my dad's album:
oh those davies look sweet!!
my friend built one of those and i love the sounds it does
Yeah, the whole 'redesign' came out loads better than I hoped.
And the DroneLab is a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to exploring it a bit, see what I can throw at it or get out of it in conjunction with the modular.
looks damn nice
also, how is the year 2020?
It's from the FUTURE!
Definitely got the building bug: this week I've built a SammichSID and then yesterday I built a DroneLab (V2)
Quite a fun little box - circuit built around a CD40106 to generate 4 oscillators with 2-pole band-pass filter, low pass filter, a distortion (fuzz) circuit and external input. It also has a 'tremolo' function - each oscillator has a clock divider so you can make basic rhythmic drones too.
One of the really nice things is that it's been design with 'bending' and modding in mind - there's plenty of space on the board and tons of pads to tap into various signals.
I designed my own face plate and had it made by RazorLab (Ponoko) and sourced some cheap Davies clone knobs to give it a fresher look.
Ha ha
I didn't know he was a member!
Expect an email forthwith!
Oh and I just finished the build - works perfectly!
Absolutely flawless building guide and kit - cheers Wlba
Does anyone have the (Ponoko) vector art for the enclosure? I'm almost done building mine and have gotten quite addicted to Ponoko (or RazorLab as it's known here in the UK) so I fancy a custom enclosure for mine.
Yes, Pulsar and PR8 = exactly same 'format'
This is getting interesting
Aren't you lucky that I converted NTRQ to use CHR RAM - it used to be ROM but I 'converted' it so that it would be compatible with Munchausen cart.
Not a MML user myself but that's a great idea and nicely put together
ne7: yeah, thanks a lot!
Neil: In the ntrq.net web there's the latest 1.8 and I've used that. Are there any dramatical changes in 1.9?
I couldn't really remember but from the release notes ('version.txt') it says V1.9 was just changes to the command-line tools so you should be OK.
herr_prof wrote:good to know..getting to know pr8 is heavy on my 2012 todo.
it's on my to-do list as well.. i tried hastily to play around with a prerelease version a couple months back but the ins and outs of navigating takes some more getting used to.
may i say though, neil, that the PR8 has one of the slickest looking NES interfaces i've ever seen? may i say it?
Stick with it, it's worth the effort
And yes, you may say that. Thank you
If anyone has ideas for tutorials I was thinking of putting together some new ones, videos perhaps.
neilbaldwin wrote:I did get it working whereby the 'clock' was determined by hitting a button on pad 2 so I know that that method would effectively work. It has limited use though, admittedly.
it would be pretty easy to build an arduino device that took a midi clock signal and translated that to button presses, so whenever the arduino received a clock pulse, it would "hit a button on pad 2".
paging batsly adams.
It's not a MIDI clock you need unless you can divide the clock right down. As it is, MIDI clock is far too high a rate to be any use to the crude sync method we're talking about here
