Wasn't the green gameboy an original first as well? That makes the picture above incomplete.

Looks funny.

I'll add a + to this too then, publicity is good, especially for an aged chiptune bloke from the 90's that no-one remembers big_smile

Damn, hoping times'll get better for you man.

Currently finishing up my thesis and working as a freelance webdeveloper for the last one and a half years. Will work 60% at a company from september and 40% as a freelancer.

Probably you'll want to look into Amiga Explorer:  http://www.amigaforever.com/ae/

Amiga Explorer is a pain in the ass to work with.

cerror and I use a HxC floppy emulator. Works like a charm!

We use Protracker 1.3b and the Amiga 500! :-)

Maybe we should change our name to 8bitxyce.

Give it your best! :-)

Changed xylo to xyce. I haven't used my 'xylo' name for a lot of solo projects lately so xyce would be more logical!

I've recently been really intrigued by Amiga music.

I can't tell if this thread is interesting or intimidating.

I think I'll do emulators for awhile.

One thing that's daunting: there are a bajillion versions of Protracker (Version 2.1a, version 3.X, etc.). Is there a preferred version? And is there a good tutorial for that version? (assuming there are big differences between versions...)  That is to say, if I want to learn on emulator, with the option to buy hardware down the road, what is the best route to take?

I use 1.3b. It works for me and haven't found a reason to upgrade.

LOL something tells me you have this list of artists memorized alphabetically. smile

that and it's pretty much a rundown of pretty much all the artists that showed up in the mega chip packs that i used to download off of chiptune.com ages ago!  goodtimez.

I copied it pretty much from our list of artists that inspire us (xyce) but asides from that this lists of artists is imo pretty much the crème de la crème of happy chiptune.

I don't think 'modern' day themed chiptune can compete (in any way) with the happiness and joyfulness of the oldschool themed tunes. But that's subjective, so just my humble opinion. And it's an honour to be named in this thread for those reasons, because it is pretty much the style we'd like to be remembered by, although we are not really trying to achieve that, it just happens, so that's a good thing.

Of course. We even released our 'best of mod.*' collection a few months back.

off the top of my head, anything by malmen and joule (where is that guy anyhow??)

joule's still on IRC and fiddling around some piano and chiptune-ish things. Just not that much releases.

Xyce - 4chpcm love and "je suis baguette"

If I'd order our albums by happiness I guess mosaik is above 4chpcm. :-)
