Our new (and third) album is online! 11 songs made with the Atari 1040STe, Amiga 500 and PC.

Featuring two songs with two of our favorite chiptune artists, Zalza and Radix.

You can listen to it on bandcamp.

You could try MusicMon 2.5e. It lets you 'draw' sounds in a little window which you can tweak by setting some parameters and stuff.

Or you could import mods you like and try tweaking instruments in those mods. Learn their structure and then try making your own.

Uhh...theory is theory man. It's not like lsdj has it's own special notes. I recommend getting a guitar or piano and learning a bit on that.

Great idea. Learning music on a gameboy or a computer or something like that is far from the best way how to learn. I recommend a piano highly.

Is actually not far from the best way. Learning music and it's theoretics in a tracker is a really good way to understand for example the construction of a chord. Instead of having three fingers on some snares which makes it sound like a G you can actually see the notes on your screen forming a G.

I do agree that learning music on an instrument is a good basic but learning it on a computer is really not that bad.

Man I'd love to do this. Need to go to Holland soon again..

Yeah it's awesome when the weather is nice. I live on a boat actually, and I got a small boat with a 4 horsepower engine behind it to make trips. ^^

I am not. Working, enjoying boat trips on my boat thru the canals in my town and drinking beer and making some music.

Well, my town/area's chiptune community exists of me and cerror. And that's fine.

Thanks for sharing.

Not new. I make music on the Atari 1040STe, Amiga 500 and PC (OpenMPT). Nowadays mostly under the name of 'xyce', which is a collaboration project of cerror and I.

demos were not generally distributed with source code for a long time, maybe in the Spirit Of Competition.

As said before, if you were IN the demoscene, you COULD get access to loads if not most of the stuff.

Yes, but commercially releasing code on Github and stuff is different from just asking on a demoparty. smile

You know, software can be open too wink

opensource.org

He's stating that Demoscene was 'open' since it's beginning because tracked songs are open source anyway. It's wrong to state 'Demoscene' was open source because tracked songs are. Music is only a small part of the demoscene.

There is some potential, but you have to wait long time to finish your songs (my opinion). listen them again and again. after few days. after month, months, maybee years. change them. Do you still like it? Does it sound good enough to you? One day it reaches the point that it has a start, the end ant the middle and there's nothing to change, nothing to add or remove. That's what I'm doing.

There is always stuff to add or remove.

And I would say to Goingham, read something about arranging songs and giving them structure.

Demoscene was open since it's beginning, because If there was e.g. some track realised, It was realised in Tracker file format (not audio, mp3), so anyone have to open it in tracker to play it, thus anyone have it's source. I think.

to iLKke: I want new gameboy DMG games! is there anyone working on something?

Music is actually only a small part of demoscene, so to say demoscene was open since it's beginning would be a bit exaggerating.
