CCDM vs Stagediver Amiga Battle 0.5 (Bootleg)

Milwaukee, WI 9.17.11
--------------------------------------------

Huge thanks to systmcrsh for recording the show (keep the plugins coming!) http://www.dirtybomb.tk/destr6y!

Thanks to the soundman who forgot to patch the actual music, but kept the stage mics patched to the direct out.

Special shoutouts to everyone who said they would come out and support, but chose to stay home. We couldn't have done this without you.

What you are hearing is a recording of a stream from the other side of the planet from a shitty mic on the other side of the room. No direct audio. (Again - thanks, soundman!)

Let's do things a little differently next time.

This should be what you need. Let me know if there are any issues.

Tested with both XP and Vista using Golden Videos

Use AMCap to monitor the Amiga in a live/studio setup.

How legal is this shit?

I'm not sure why it took me this long to find this thread but here's my (admittedly uneducated) contribution - Vic 20 "math music" from '04:

I'm not sure if the method of creation of this exact piece was a line of C, but I do know he's been known to do that very thing over the years. Perhaps he's got some code to share.

Octamed can only access one sample at a time via MIDI as a slave/sound module. The only way around this (afaik) is to program your sequences in Octamed and sync the whole shebang via MIDI. This will then create another set of problems with MIDI timing and your MPC.

WELCOME TO THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF AMIGA.

Furthermore, which version of Octamed 4 are you using? Coverdisk? Does an image of a dragon come up before the program starts?

Did you set a value for your sample buffer before you started sampling?

Guys, can't thank you enough for doing this. I posted a request a few years ago on atariage.com for a lsdj kind of tracker but I gave up on it thinking it would never happen.

This reminds me of a pretty funny story Ty Stagediver had about requesting a similar thing back in 99/00. I guess he stumbled upon this cart: http://www.cheek.org/atari/lynx/sfx.htm and contacted the guy behind it to "create a program like this other cool thing called LSDJ for the game boy." Well, the guy said he would if he knew people would buy it and responded with this nugget: "Considering no one, with the exception of three people knows of this LSDJ thing, it's a low priority."

To think what could have been!

...and I quote:

"royb0t: Stagediver is the Trent Reznor of chiptune"

Hell, now that I think about it I'd like to see some Stagediver+10k action again! Maybe they can actually finish the song this time.

Blip in the land of Bloody Fist? It's damn near guaranteed Stagediver and I will be flying down for this. He's been looking for an excuse to dig up some buried Amiga 600 he has directions to. I wish I was joking.

Can't we all just go back to ignoring the music section again?
