It's pretty awesome if you have a SBAWE32. If you don't it's still interesting, but not as useful. F1 is great help just like AT2 though and it has polyphonic MIDI support. No 4op that I could see, but very impressive nonetheless. Going to have to get an AWE32 now. smile

ohh that's cool, then you can have your two panned for stereo and a center channel as well. Ooo or 6 SID's for complete polyphony AND panning techniques. I doubt 1 Mhz could handle that much though with much effect manipulation. Definitely not with sample channels added. Hardware's outpacing the software once again.

oh man, would love to try.
sounds amazing.

You really only need the 1541-Ultimate if you're trying to play Maniac Mansion and run a BBS. uIEC/SD + JiffyDOS and a couple others like it are the best option. If you need maniac mansion you can get Easyflash to use with it. I think SID Wizard is the best DualSID option, MSSIAH editing is a bit of a hassle using joysticks or mice and MIDI isn't the best arrangement option(only single instruments per channel). Really makes the whole workflow take longer too. Cybertracker's great for single SID arrangements and user friendliness. No memorizing arbitrary hex-values, no clunky input device navigation. I suggest getting Dirmaster and making your own custom SID Wizard .D81 disk with everything loaded onto it off the .D64 disks. Learn the tracker and make badass tunes. wink

The OPL3 emulation though is still fairly imperfect. Certain sounds cannot be achieved without the real hardware. It is however the most stable built of this program I've seen yet, and you can actually run macros at 200x speeds without any slowdown what-so-ever. MIDI implementation is still very very limited. It's designed to be a monosynth note retriggerer for use with DAW's apparently. If only soundblaster 16 drivers were compatible with NT 5.1 and up builds to use with this. That would make me extremely happy. I do wonder if this will run on older NT's though have to try it with win2000 or NT 4.0.

After adding the screen and buttons and serial port connector and failing in attempts to update the 1541-III firmware I gave up and decided the best option is uIEC for use with my JiffyDOS I just installed. Cannot wait to save and load music at lightning fast speeds. I'm a bit torn as to what the best program is though. MSSIAH isn't very streamlined for pattern editing, but is nice as far as user friendliness as is Cybertracker. SID Wizard looks very optimized and compatible with things like my DUALSID setup. Not to mention the SID file format. I managed to figure out some of the basics of SID Wizard, but man you have to memorize every hex value function in order to use it properly and I kinda miss the ADSR formats. I'll probably play with them all though. Thanks for the suggestions! ;D

I hope not. But really I could see maybe using DOSbox and ADT2play like Sid Player. You'd have to do some customization to the loading for each module. It does run on my android, though sluggishly.

Can we get one on the Saturn? I reeeeeally want to use the Saturn sound chip. PCM and FM. Ultimate arcade music machine right there.

That's pretty awesome! great composition too. I'll try it out on my OPL3.

yea, sounds like a sampled vocoder, offence has a pretty good one in here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cd36A_8jYj4
Yes, regmacroediting quickly is the way. If 4op was easier to make single instruments that'd be the way to go since it worked pretty well, but keeping it simple and small.

Anyone know where to find the tracker they use or is it not public?
4 8bit sample channels 2 SID channels all with use of filters.
Probably too much processing to add 2nd SID support on that, but
sounds like fun from the Vicious SID demos.

can't wait to try this! Does SFX mean samples to? cuz that would be amazing to include. I know some trackers have managed a 4th channel of samples with the 8580 SIDs, and that'd make this the end all be all for SID trackers for me to learn. Too bad I can't stick this on my MSSIAH cart and just use that midi port.

Are you using the same disk image as your other saves? Maybe trying with a fresh blank image file would solve it. Read about similar troubles on lemon 64.

Could be ESFM, which is better than wavetable. I've read people having success with ESS sound cards. You would have to look up the datasheet or just try it out. If it did work, you'd have to use it in windows mode and not DOS mode from what I read here: http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?p=285227

yessssss, I got about a quarter way through this list, but had to take a break. it's mind numbing trying to make a distinguishment between mmm and nnn and oooo and aaaaa for hours on end, and then piecing them together into strings. Pretty fun though. Yea, I have SAM for my SID. I just like that the OPL3 sounds a bit more like the speakjets, SID sounds like a really crunched version of the doppler radar voice, though I think sam could be expanded to an 8580 specific mode and really make use of that analog filter.
