I got my GB Boy Colour today. It works fine. Contrary to Maz'Hoot one, mine is turning off the speaker when I'm using a headphone.
The speaker is not correctly wired, only the right channel is connected. Hopefully, with a headphone it's correct for both channel. Maybe it's possible to fix this, but I intend to use it mostly with headphones so I don't really care.

I've put a nanoloop image on my GB USB 64M card, but it's not working (black screen). I've also tried the image on my "real" Nintendo gameboy color, and I can't make it work either. But the same image is working with a GB emulator on my PC, so, I don't know. It seems some people managed to make nanoloop work on this device: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tw3HD5lUWUw He talks about a mGB ROM, maybe it's needed to make nanoloop work (or maybe not: http://nanoloop.com/midi/mgb.html). I don't use nanoloop so I'll probably stop here at the moment. [edit: on the video, it's not nanoloop in fact, only mGB, which can use a nanoloop cable to connect to the PC)

Otherwise this GB Boy Colour seems great. It's just a pity they used a different screen ratio than the original GB so the games will look a bit distorded. There is much noise when I'm using a real cardridge (either for lsdj or for a normal card game), but I suspect it's because my batteries are low, or because it's rechargeable batteries. On the built-in games, the sound is OK. Like you can read on several website, there are 66 games, but they duplicated three times, for an unknown reason (probably to make it look there are more than in reality). As far as I've seen, it's only old, 2 colors, DMG GB games.

On the package, it's written 2006, so if it's for the year, I guess it's no longer produced, only an old stock.

I bought it on AliExpress at the beginning of this month. The tracking system said today it was the "Arrival at Processing Center", so I guess within a few day, maybe a week, I should get it, unless the toll is adding some annoyance. I'll tell you as soon as possible, don't worry wink

I've only tried one file, but since I can only get 8bit files from audacity, I thought I used some wrong options.

Here is the file: http://dl.free.fr/nYTPVW2el

I've compiled the latest code from github and I'm using linux (mint)

I should receive mine in a few days, I'll try it and I'll tell you!

for calculating the paning, you can also use this online tool (made in javascript):

http://garvalf.online.fr/ht2_panning.php

It might also be possible to include the code into the ht2 manual, it's quite small... if you wish Utz, I can make a pull request or if you prefer you can link to an external website...

I'm trying this, but it acts rather strangely:

./pcm2pwm piano8bit.wav

all I get is:
.byte $00,$FF,$FF

My file should be legit I guess:
piano8bit.wav: RIFF (little-endian) data, WAVE audio, Microsoft PCM, 8 bit, mono 44100 Hz

it's 45 kb big

(I exported as 8bit unsigned in audacity)

there are tutorials for GB color + SP frontlight, so I assume the SP wouldn't fit the DMG...

@nonfinite: can't you just use the windows version with wine? Or the official TI app for mac: https://education.ti.com/en/us/product- … s/download

just to be sure, I don't remember if I asked before, but sounds in HT2 are very short, and even shorter when we increase the tempo. If we want to get longer sounds, we just have to repeat the note right?

So instead of

B1
---
---
---
D1
---
---
---

I can write

B1
B1
B1
---
D1
D1
D1
---

I supposed there isn't an other way to increase the sound lenght.

sorry, it wasn't clear. I meant:  You can enter notes into MaxYMiser by using a MIDI keyboard, but you won't be able to play back midi sequence from maxymiser to the midi keyboard.

The MiST fpga board has midi support too, and native VGA output. It seems some people are using it for this reason.

so the timing is very close to a real ST

maxYMiser is not a midi sequencer but a sound tracker. You can enter notes with it, but I don't think you'll be able to play them back on your keyboard / synth.  It's a very good tool for creating chiptune music though.

1 ms, do you really need that much precision for your midi recordings?

could it work on Linux with sidplayfp for example?

can't you just solder the erroneous cables with a wire?

Someone did this on a TI83 calculator: http://lowpowerlab.com/blog/2012/12/29/ … lator-fix/

the ym to sid sounds really cool. Is the converter freely available? Is it easy to use?

hello,

I asked about ProTracker 3 on WoS (http://www.worldofspectrum.org/forums/d … edirect/p1) and since I didn't receive answer, I copy my question here as well:

how to transfer the data to my PC?

I can save a tune into the original PT372.SCL floppy, then I used sn113 (dos tool to get data from spectrum disk) to extract the saved file to my PC. It works, I got a file.$M with data in it. But if I try to open it in vortex tracker (as pt3, I renamed the file), it's not usable. Some notes are recognised, but not everything, and therefore it's not correct.

There is a save, compile, decompile option in protracker. What are the differences? It seems save and compile are giving the same binaries in the end.

cool, I'll try to do something...

Just to clarify, there is a protracker for Amiga, but for AY music it is Protracker 3 for zx spectrum, as described here: http://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/14763 … or-speccy/

With mouse support in the Fuse emulator, and being similar to Vortex Tracker, I find it rather easy to use...
