Haha, glad to hear you enjoyed it; even though I didn't win; feel free to post the e-mail big_smile

I was told they'd take any standard watch battery cell.

You might be hard up to get all of those features in a DJ mixer for that price; but if you go with just a mini-mixer you can make some of them with the Behringer Xenyx 802 which is very popular amongst Chip musicians.

Here's the best matches I could find; though I haven't actually tried any of them.

Just wait for the great moment of clarity when the perfect name just hits you. It'll probably happen in the shower, so maybe just take long showers or lots of them.

This is possibly the best creative advice I've ever heard.

I'm sorry; what was that about an awesome (and kinda strange) Chip music video?

I use Win7; it's a pain to get set up yes; but I mean take a few hours one day; get it figured out, and then you're solid. I'll second that mods will come when you're ready, I did my first album on an un-modded GBC. I would recommend starting on a Gameboy though, emulators just never did it for me. I still can't stand using them, a gameboy just has a better feel somehow.

I think the biggest problem here is that people here think you're asking for their songs which they worked hard for; sweat, tears, and blood and all that. But since this is for simple game loops (which most of our albums wouldn't work for anyways) then it fits into a different demographic.

If you think of this as a loop producer; take 20 minutes and make a short, simple and functional loop (not a masterpiece) and sell that (non-exclusively) for the $10. that works out to the equivalent of $30/hour. Of course it depends on if you can actually sell any of the loops or not; but doesn't that sound a bit more appealing?

I'll admit the cut seems a bit low; but I think that this is kind of one of those areas where if you don't like it; move on and let the man do his thing; he's trying to help out a certain demographic.

Best of luck to you; but I'm going to pass.

We've given you plenty of ideas; I think it's time for you to fool around with them for a bit and see what you can come up with. big_smile

You can get a pretty decent side-chain going on with either envelopes (low first digit, second digit at least over 8); or you can do a stepped wave channel envelope.

I try really, really hard to get everything really even and smooth in LSDJ before I record it.

This; definitely.

Quite honestly the DMG gives a really nice clean mix if you just take the time to do all your volume levels right, and if you know how to write so that lines don't conflict. I also record 1 track straight from the jack; it's quicker and cleaner, and your songs sound the same live.

E commands, fade things in and out.
