I don't do this whole inspiration thing, I just write stuff haha. The odd time I'll think up a sweet song as I lay trying to get to sleep, but I usually forget it overnight.

Pro sound mods aren't ideal for headphones, it takes the signal before it's routed to the amp so it's purer, but not strong enough for standard headphone use.
Good luck!

Trashbaby all the way!

European Folk band and an African counter-cultural movement for me:

Perhaps I should have picked a more unique name, but it works for me.

My only concern is the idea that every track is published without any means of quality control; it could very quickly destroy any sort of name that others are trying to build up. The idea of instilling quality control is equally difficult, but I guess we'll just have to see how it goes. I'd also highly recommend that you go and seek out some artists of different genres and mediums to fill out your starting repertoire (Asking specific members of the community that you respect, rather than a blanket call). This will get a good variety of strong tracks for others to build off of, listening through the tracks that are there they all seem to be a very specific sub-genre of chip which will very tightly limit the sort of people you'll get interested in the project.

VERY interesting idea, I might get involved with this if I have some time over summer. Agreed some means for working on new versions aside from just going by ear would be helpful (midis, chord sheets, lyrics, y'know that sort of thing). I'm interested to see how this turns out.

Hrmm, no post-processing at all eh? Good practice for mixing within LSDJ I guess. I think I'll retool one of my tracks to send in.
Sweet contest guys!

I fiddled.

Looks like this is getting going pretty good. It's a lot of work and it's tough to know where to start. If someone gets some templates laid out I'll fill in what I've learned.

I have the same problems sometimes, I try to mix it fairly evenly low, then crank it up with a brick wall limiter. I definitely don't flatten it out though, I keep it just below zero with the limiter only catching clipping peaks. Mine seem to be coming out okay, but I've definitely still heard louder.

Anyone have feedback from these sales?

Whoops, sorry for the double, my internet is messed up.
Hope to do business with you smile

I was thinking that this would be great for live shows, the ability to smoothly mix one song into the next would be great.

Or perhaps the cord/stereo is only using one stereo channel, check to see if the cord you're using is stereo.
