Back in my day, people generally used these sorts of threads to discuss the actual content of the release in question.  So I'm going to do that. I like this record, and i like the concept behind it. My favorite track is In Dark Rooms. This record is the soundtrack to my nightmares, but they're the cool nightmares where you get to beat up zombies. Well done Ricardo!

Would I get any signal loss from the original headphone port if I have a secondary 1/8'' pro-sound jack installed?

nope, should be ok.

Well my idea was to simply add a second 1/8th jack wired to the pro-sound and leave the original heaphone out for just that.

that's actually what i do with some of mine. not a bad plan, and it doesn't look as obtrusive as the RCA jacks do.

I have one of each actually, the 1/8th inch goes post-volume pot, for headphone use, and the RCA goes pre-volume for recording etc.

If that's the case, wouldn't that make a 1/8'' pro-sound mod pointless?

to be honest, i would just use the standard headphone jack on the game boy - prosounding makes it harder to use headphones in a loud environment. You could have a second 1/8" jack for prosounded out in addition to the RCA and the standard jack, that might work well.

wow, i was kidding but you guys seem to be clinging rather firmly to the PNES. just be respectful of the PNES, it's very powerful and robust.

Really a matter of personal taste- the 1/8" is what most people use if im not mistaken.  I don't think there's much of a difference besides what cable you'd end up using to connect to a mixer. The 1/8" also looks less obvious when you look at the game boy, the RCA is bigger so it changes the form factor a little more.

I keep my setlists too, and some of the flyers from I/O.  I also kept my pair of 3d glasses from Minusbaby's set at Blip '09, and one of the schedules on the wall at blip '09 too.

I just want to clarify something that's been confusing me- with the Costume Only Open Mic, do you need to be dressed as the artist you are covering, or does it just mean wear any costume, do any cover?

daaaaaaaaaaaamn son. high quality from start to finish.

Yes lol. Obviously it's a good program, as I've heard some great stuff come out of it, but it makes my brain hurt just looking at it. I much prefer a nice tracker. tongue

Agreed. My ouput increased like mad once I switched from nanoloop to trackers.  m4g is going to be amazing.

Try and emulate the sound of more traditional instruments - for instance, a string player will typically play shorter notes without vibrato, but if a note is held out, they add it a moment after the initial attack. Volume swells also work well for string type instruments.
Oh yeah and 2nded re: lsdsng.com.  there's a lot of cool stuff on there.
