A hint to all the people complaining about noise in their sound- gameboys are old. They have capacitors and other components inside which deteriorate. They run on batteries put through DC-DC converters which can be notoriously noisy. So yeah, the amount of abuse your gameboy has taken is a far greater aspect of noise production than model. A re-cap job and possibly replacing or upgrading the PSU will, in nearly all instances, kill the noise. I have worked with old computers and such for a long time, and those two things cause probably %90 of problems in old electronics, including gameboys.

Whoops, my bad on the mixup. As I said- Alien Got theory's music is better than it sounds I'm sure.

Sounds fine to me, my bad on the missing the challenge thing. I went out of town the day you issued it. sad

So, congrats Kool Skull, you get to pixel me enjoying sunny lakeside cabin life in Hackensack MN!

No prob. I'm sorry I had to step out early, I really missed most of Edward Shallow's set.

Here is my synopsis of my time there:

Alien God Theory played first. I would say that his music is better than it sounds. Actually, I think even he would call his work a "sound project" and not music. Much reverberating extra-loud gonging noises and such. No offense intended to this artist, but I was kinda bored by it.

I believe the second group on was Crux. One kid played a synth, the other some kind of electronic drum/tambourine thing. Like Alien God Theory, there was less of melody and beat and more eclectic noises, but more variety. The drummer had a neat mohawk.

Third was Erik Tinberg, who preformed briefly with Crux. He was my favorite of the show, and actually managed to get a few of the audience members (including me for a bit) dancing, which is saying something with the small crowd we had. Very nice beats, and a bit more of a stage presence too.

Sadly, I missed what I am told was the best part of the show, Edward Shallow. I did get to talk to him briefly and listen to him talk to other people there, and he seems like a cool fellow. Nice accent, sweet beard!

Anyways, hopefully some of the other show-goers can post pictures of some of it.

Nope, sorry I don't do SNES carts right now. If you must get a SNES cart made I suggest checking out MuteCity's cartridge services. I don't know how much he does totally custom work, but I have seen him do SNES cart reproductions before.

I'm getting back early from vacation. Which means I'm gonna come.

I have had some questions about these so I'll post some Q&A here:

Q: Can my custom cartridge be updated?
A: Yes, but it's not as easy as plugging into a USB port. You will need to either send your cartridge to me so I can reprogram it, or you can send it to a friend with an EPROM programmer, and he can do it. I perform this service for free providing you can ship your cartridge to me.

Q: What ROMs can I run with your custom cartridges?
A: Any ROM that's legal for you to have me make!

Q: What ROMs can I run with your custom 11-in-1 multi-cartridge?
A: Any NROM program, which includes nearly all No Carrier ROMs and Lightwall.

Q: Will you autograph/draw on/paint/label my custom cartridge?
A: Sure, if you want me to! For an extra charge I can even ship your cartridge to someone like Thretris for some custom paint!

Good job Br1ght Pr1mate and company! I didn't see it, but congrats. Too bad Fox is not the most respected station around. Now if you had been on the Today show I would have totally called sellout, but Fox is OK I guess. smile

CZMO- I make cartridges. They are not too bad price wise. PM me. smile

EDIT: if you are handy with a soldering iron I can just send you chips and you can install them in your own donor cartridge. Or I can just give you instructions if you are one of the lucky few with an EPROM programming machine.

OK, now I have a whole pile of new revisions to try out. My EPROM burner is going to be busy for a while, and I predict this is going to put many more hours onto my brand new projector bulb. smile

Well, it actually wouldn't probably require arduino hardware per-se, it could be done with a basic stamp or propeller or TTL or whatever.

Just thought I'd give this another bump, as I haven't gotten any serious takers yet. If you would rather not commission because of the risk of laying down cash up front for something I'm going to build, fret not. I'll be doing some generic hardware soon which you can just buy, but it obviously won't be custom work.

I have seen dis. It sweet. Spend monies on it. DO IT!

Now the only problem I have is... will I be able to make it back from Hackensack in time!?!?
Probably not, but we'll see.

So I grabbed both songs from that music blog, and the Piolaboy remix is awesome! I can't understand a word he says, but it's very cool sounding. The other one is very excellent also.
