But I cant wait to hear what you will do with AT2. Kick drums, and 4OP instruments are the hardest ever to make in AT2. But as I mentioned before... just hit me up whenever, or post up on here! I am going to browse this forum A LOT more frequently now.

Yea it would be way easier to buy a cheapy laptop, and run some dos midi devices.... you can get the midiman units (now known as m-audio) in paralell or serial for DOS. So just make sure the laptop has those ports. I picked up a midiman portman for about $8 on ebay.

Ive been using the DBX 266XL forever now.. I have 2. One or gigging, and one for recording. They have never let me down, sound great and do the job. But yea, they are stereo, and have sidechain inputs, so thats why it is a little more than the others. It can be used as an expander as well, along with a compressor/gate. The SB16, and NES output can be noisey as you know, and you can get it just right with this unit and not really be able to tell that a gate is in use. Very easy to mess with. I see them going for about $60 used at DADDYS , or ebay.

True. But for me, I actually found making instruments to be easier in at2 than rad... and you have double the channels.
