Im in San Francisco and i honestly am such a hermit that i have no idea who is even around. anyone from sf on here?

Most of the San Francisco scene isn't on cm.org.

I play shows as Matthew Joseph Payne and I used to be in The Glowing Stars - the scene around here is pretty robust, we've got Crashfaster, Starpause, A-Rival, Together We Are Robots, all kinds of cool people! Morgan from Crashfaster puts on shows at DNA Lounge. Sometimes Slime Girls and some other south bay folks come up to party.

Sorry e.s.c., I wasn't clear - the one seb shipped hasn't arrived, yours is here. smile

oh p.s. I should mention that my interface hasn't arrived yet, but I bought e.s.c.'s, because I'm excited to make music! I'll let you know when the other one arrives.

I, for one, am way keen! Ready to build and enclose! smile

Wow! I was like *this close* to buying or building a USB MIDI host... how soon will you be ready to release the v102 firmware, yathink?

Digital Performer is SUPPOSED to be able to record the incoming tempo, but I haven't gotten it to work yet.

maybe I should just pay you money now and get album art later

My first "chiptune" "gig" was at a jazz festival I was attending in like, 2001? 2002? I played a song called "Zero Fun Value" that was just LSDJ (on my v1.2 cart) and this weird phonics toy with a 1/4" jack added to it. I spelled out "JAZZCAMP" on the toy during the song. I think I threw my hat off at some point. People liked it a lot. I think I have a VHS of it somewhere.

At this point I had never heard the words "chiptune" or "chipmusic", I had no idea anyone else was doing it, and all my drums were default wav channel samples. Those were good days.

edit: Looked at the LSDJ changelog, if I was correct about the LSDJ version, it would have had to have been 2002, because I had the cart for awhile and v 1.2 happened mid 2001.

yeah I gotta do dis! I'm just really not at the ART stage with my next release yet hmm
