MALADAPTIVE STRATEGIES VOL. 1 • 1ST OF A RETROSPECTIVE SERIES, OUT NOW

① Not That You Asked (2002)
② Access Failure (2002)
③ Parapersona Crash
④ Prokaryote Fight Song
⑤ White House Ejector Seat (2004)
⑥ Antenna (2005)
⑦ Pocket Calculator (2005)
⑧ Astro Zombies
⑨ We Bite
⑩ Winter Wonderland (2002)
⑪ Let It Snow (2003)

Hey y'all — been rounding up all of the tracks I've done outside of the context of my three releases to date, and getting them remastered and making them available in one place. Tracks that were previously exclusive to compilations, tracks I might have casually tossed onto a homepage or a MySpace player for a little while, and a few tracks that never got released at all.

The end result is Maladaptive Strategies, a retrospective series of releases compiling all this old material, and organized loosely by chronology and character. Vol. 1 was released on Thursday, with more volumes to come.

This volume collects material recorded between 2002 and 2005, and some of the bumpier early experiments are, I think, offset by some of my favorite work, like "Not That You Asked" from a Japan-only CD compilation, and "Antenna," the song that appeared on the Kraftwerk tribute album 8-Bit Operators, released in 2007 on Astralwerks.

Vol. 1 has been remastered by Carl Peczynski / Planet Zaxxon, and packaged up in truly breathtaking artwork by Andi Soto.

Stay tuned for future volumes, and thanks for listening.

The track's still available for download on micromusic.net (although the uploader's name there is "Jar-Wo" -- pretty sure it's the same person though).

The same track's also up for streaming on a Godard Reverbnation page: https://www.reverbnation.com/godard

I think the artist's stage name was Godard.

I'm excited to be a participant in Groupees' newest Chiptune + Charity campaign, raising money for MyMusicRx, a nonprofit bringing music and music-related games/lessons to children with cancer and other serious illnesses.

We're a little bit past the halfway point of the two-week campaign, during which you can name your price (≥$2.00) to snag an incredible amount of music. This campaign (their 14th) includes releases by Rainbowdragoneyes, Jellica, Shirobon, TRIAC, n00bstar, Zweihänder, Blitz Lunar, and Popskyy — as well as my most recent full-length album, Closed System Blues.

This is a great opportunity to get a ton of great chip albums at an incredible discount, and supporting a great cause at the same time.

PLUS: additional items (for contributors at any level) unlocked at certain fundraising milestones. The first has been hit at $1200, unlocking Blitz Lunar's excellent Blips Lunar release. The next hits at the $2000.00 mark, unlocking n00bstar's Quatre.

BUT WAIT: THERE'S MORE: extra giveaways for the top donors (including CD copies of my album Closed System Blues, a Bit Shifter sticker pack, Jellica cat magnets & sticker pack, and complete digital discographies of TRIAC, Shirobon, and xyce.
