By 5th we mean 8th?

Any way to tweak the current YouTube embedding function to accommodate the URL-based start-time indicator they introduced recently? For instance the url
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viaTT859Yk0#t=0m44s
will start a video at the 00:44 mark. Any way to accommodate the trailing "#t=XXmXXs" parameter in Chipmusic.org YouTube embeds?

Red ants vs. black ants.

GO

For fuck's sake. It really does take only the slightest of perceived transgressions to trigger The Great Internet Invalidation Contest. I'm sure most of us either would say, or have said, things in the presence of a camera all up in your grille that we later wished we'd phrased more carefully or more specifically or whatever. If you really want to split hairs about the terms "hi fidelity" and "genre," go nuts; but it seems petty to me.

Oh people, be nice. Perfectly good segment.

I was familiar with some of of these tracks already, but some of these others are amazing surprises. Rock-solid compilation. PDF Format, this is the first I've heard your track, it's amazing!

A friend just gave me a heads-up about this; chip-esque album by Seth Jabour of Les Savy Fav. Pretty interesting to hear his take on the style. From what I can tell these tracks are connected to an art exhibition called Deluxx Fluxx:

... which looks to be up in NYC until late May.

Actually while I'm on the subjects of shirts I am hunting for; also wanted are these bad boys:

- Blip Festival 2006 t-shirt (men's M)
- Blip Festival 2008 t-shirt (men's M)

so if anyone's got an extra or something, let me know.

Looks like they have large ones at kind of games?

Also, Josh -- Large is still in stock on the KOG site if you wanted to try and shrink your shirt..?

Josh, I have this t-shirt in size L (you gave it to me).  I don't wear it, so if you want it, it's yours.

Thanks guise. Large is too big, and I doubt I could shrink it successfully; I'm sure any attempt I made would result in some kind of dryer inferno. But thanks.

Embarrassingly late to this party; finally got this, it's unreal! Pummeling & relentless. I think I have bruises.

Now that I think of it, 8bc applies only one kind of CC license (Share-Sharealike) for every upload, correct? Think it might be time to take down some stuff from there.

They added qualifying language at the footer of the site, saying "... unless otherwise stated." This way users could specify a different license if they wanted, via the song description field.

Why do you care if someone makes a remix of your song, releases it under a CC license, and credits you with a link to your page? It's just extra publicity.

Subjective personal preference. It's kind of cool to know that for a given remix, the cooperation of the artists involved is the product of deliberate selection on their part. It's a subtle thing I guess, but to me anyway, remixes facilitated strictly by a blanket license seem more impersonal and indiscriminate.

Such a great show!

Unfortunately that's not correct. By using a license that permits derivative works, you have already granted permission, to everyone in the world, to make new things out of your art. This is why it's important to consider the different licensing options carefully.
