yea but that is the opposite of the position I was talking about, ie someone who finds finds playing retro games more convenient on modern computers and emulation devices, even if the emulation isn't 100%.

You are speaking from the position of a gamer, not of someone who is interested in the artistic and programmatic aesthetics of the platform.  If you eliminate some limits, why not others? I could simply play sonic games rendered in the unity3d engine, cause its "better".

As for carts being a failure point, how many used nes, atari, and sega units do you see in the wild versus cd based systems? In 30 years, cart systems will be the only classic games systems left.

Yea but how many emulators truly provide a 1:1 appropriation of hardware? Also you can argue that why emulate on some machine that is capable of much more?

1. Artists who think classic video games sounds where awesome, and their arrangements where the best possible way of expression.
2. Artists who think classic arrangements where tops, but wish they could be recorded with better instrumentation
3. Artists who love classic game sounds, but wish they could be used to make different genres of music.
4. Artists who love classic game sounds, but want to use them in ways that arent possible under the limitations of old hardware
5. Artists who sabotage their creative output by posting too much on the internet.

hiphop: old funk records
trap: samples of old drum machines pitch shifted
dubstep: teen girl's money.

Clubs pay money to publishers for any songs that are played or covered on their premises, so if he has signed up with one of those publishers, he got paid.

*Probably not

Its just a video game, jerk.
