Nice! big_smile

This is the sound that I enjoyed the most mainly because it sounds so incredibly different from the source sample, just a saw tooth in piggy with retrig and pitch effects.

Haha awesome!  This seems strangely familiar to me... wink

EDIT: oops, not exactly what i thought it was but if anyone wants to look at some projects based on "smallest possible sample" you can check these out --> http://egrmusic.bandcamp.com/album/piggy-r-d

The ratings are calculated based on plays/comments/bookmarks/etc.  You can't rate a track directly.

There are four 256 byte lookup tables that are for two channel wave mixing. This is the dist setting, which you can normally set to clip, shap, shap2 or wrap. If you hold A and pressing left or right 4 times beyond the leftmost or rightmost setting, you can use data from anywhere in the memory map for this table. Most of it just sounds harsh, but worth checking out. This only works when there's a sample on BOTH the software channels, otherwise this table is not used, and you will hear no difference.

That's my favorite kit "effect" and I use it all the time!  Thanks for giving some specifics on just what is actually happening there, it bugs me to not at least have a concept of what settings are for.

Edit: i made this album based completely around sample glitchiness and abuse --> http://datathrash.bandcamp.com/album/hymnal

A cool "glitch" in LSDJ that I stumbled on recently.  When a kit instrument is already playing in loop mode, changing the offset and loop point as seen below causes the instrument to start hopping from sample to sample in the same kit.  So far I've only found settings that cause this to happen in the ACIEED kit but I'm assuming there are offset/loop point combos that would cause this in any of them.

Since none of that probably makes sense here's a recording using the settings from the screenshots: http://egrmusic.bandcamp.com/track/lsdj … litch-demo

(this demo is only the glitch looping continuously, no other effects or notes, a more interesting example of this will be on the Kittenpaw Recordings compo coming out soon!)

The Amiga 500 lives again -- in Google's browser.

Google developer Christian Stefansen on Thursday resurrected a version of the venerable computer system from the 1980s in the form of a Web app that runs in Chrome. Forty-year-olds who want to relive their childhoods or younger people who want to see just how hard their elders had it can visit the Amiga 500 emulator for Chrome online, boot the machine, and play some games.

Another nice thing about this is that there is a LEGAL way to kickstart roms via: https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta … essentials

That looks very promising since Marc had mentioned that it was a difference in libraries that was the problem, I'll try it out tonight!

Anyone else interested in running piggy on a 64bit linux system?

Besides dual-booting what are your workarounds for piggin' on 64bit linux?  Is a virtual machine the solution to this (and would it make me lose midi capability)?

For headphones yes, the sound will be quieter because the impedance has been changed to work better with mixers, amps, etc.  I've had pretty good luck using earbuds with prosound jack output tho, just depends on the phones you're using.

w00t! That's a weekend I'm off work so it's going on the calendar AS OF NOW. Super excited to see what you have in store for this!!

I was preparing to try the update when I realized I have traded away all my GBA/SP consoles.  sad  Is there any other way to update a nano2 cart?  Hopefully with a DS (which is what I use it on anyway)?

Patch applied successfully!  I can tell a significant difference. I use a sample pack I recorded from this rom in piggy all the time and the "zzzzzt!" that's normally heard on EVERY sample is now either completely gone or so small I can easily ignore it. Thanks for another highly useful fix nitro!!  big_smile

Today is your lucky day. I looked into this and produced the following IPS patch which both allows the game to be run on a GBA, and fixed the sample playback problems on GBA, using the "antispike" method that I invented which is now also used in LSDj.

Please report any problems with the patch here.

Oh snap!  So I guess I'm not remembering using my 64m with pocket music on gba after all but now I can make that false memory real, nice!

edit (you know, I'm probably just thinking of the advance version which is total ass)
