How about a chiptune with some classical guitar in it: http://chipmusic.org/roboctopus/music/o … tant-moons

I also have a chiptune with regular acoustic guitar: http://chipmusic.org/roboctopus/music/o … tant-moons

Yeah, I wanted to do this too.  It'd be nice to have a decent audio recording of everything.

I'd buy it. smile

Haha! Awesome.

But seriously, Robo... also know that some venues have limited space so you wont always be able to bring your own table. You may have to share one.

....hint hint. Cough cough.

Lolololol.  I figured that would be the case.  I couldn't fit a table in my tiny car anyway xD

I am excite!

I am glad we are getting a lot of interest, whenever we confirm a venue and date I will look at bands, there should be a lot of openings so definitely bring on the applications! From all applicants I will need to know set length, if you will be able to sell tickets, and will need a link to some music

I've never played a show (I live in a pretty rural area) so I can't comment on set length, but what do you mean by "if you will be able to sell tickets"?

Sounds like a really fast arpeggio.  I don't know anything about cubase, but it should basically be a monosynth arpeggiating a chord very quickly.

well, regardless of where, i'd love to set up a booth if you'd like.  or just come and have fun wink

also, there are a lot of people in the surrounding states to contact.  there is a fest getting put together nearby right now around the same time too, although i haven't seen public info so maybe its premature to spill the beans on it.  just to mention its in the SE area and is in July...

wait.  no, the event has a website, found it (still barebones, but whatever).  http://www.brkfest.org/details.html  <- thats the other one in the area, around the same time...  so, it must be public knowledge with the website getting active posts.  all i know is i'm going tongue

I don't think it has been "officially announced, but yeah, BRKfest is being planned in Lexington.  I'll be there.

(Sorry for the double post.)

Thanks for the responses guys.  I like the idea of having stickers to give away for free.  Might do some free stickers and some nicer not-free stickers.  I figured shirts would be expensive but I'll look into prices.

The flash drive idea is pretty cool.  I'll have to consider that.

And kineticturtle, thanks for the heads-up about drawing attention to the merch table.  That's a good tip.

I live in North Alabama and have never been to a live chip show.  But I'm going to be playing a show this summer, and I was wondering about merch.  Do you cats that play out sell merch?  I'm curious about what people might buy versus what's cost-effective.  Stickers, buttons, and patches are pretty cheap (I used to go to punk shows back in the day and that's the kind of thing I always bought.)

What do you guys sell/like to buy?

nitro2k01: Made the title more clear.

Did someone record the stream?  I wasn't able to catch the live feed, but I'd like to see it if possible.

Just to update everyone, Noisechannel.org were switching servers this week, but they are back up and running, so I'll post the next LSDJ and You as soon as possible.  This week's was written by Cheapshot, and it's super cool!  So thanks for being patient and stay tuned.

It is.  We're just talking about what electronics sound better soaked in Angostura bitters and bourbon.

I use a GBC. I just embrace the whine and the hum. Livin' on the edge.
But in all seriousness, I actually like a little bit of hum in GB recordings. In some cases, because as listed above, BGB is pretty damn accurate, the hum is the only way I can tell something was recorded from hardware. And it's like vinyl crackle or the bit of noise you'll get from recording something on analog equipment, it's just nice. If it's distracting that's one thing, but, especially if using a prosound mod on a DMG, it should never be THAT bad. EMBRACE THE HUM!

Totally agree.  I write on BGB all the time, but I put it on the DMG to record, because I like that little bit of noise.  BUT I do notch that high whine @ 9.25khz.  You still have the noise, but it kills that little high frequency that's sometimes noticeable.

But yeah, that DMG noise floor is like character.

Victory Road says it's specifically 9.25kzh.  I've just been doing a notch filter on that frequency and it seems to work for me too.  There's still some background noise, of course, but that should kill the whine.
