a last resort for if you can't learn how to use java is that you could use something like JAR TO EXE: http://sourceforge.net/projects/vjar2exe/

which converts a jar file to an exe (it doesn't compile it to native code or anything, it just runs java for you)

dunno how likely you are to find drivers for an ISA sb16 for win7 etc, not sure if a soundcard will even work on that usb adapter

and the sb16 doesn't sound that "gritty" anyway

one thing you can do is run FT2 / digistudio / st3 in PC speaker mode (edit: or now that i think of it, COVOX/DSS mode) in dosbox, load stuff up in there and play it back, and sample the output (or learn to track in dos LAMER!!), if you aren't worried about HARDWARE PURISM this can make some gritty sounds and each of the trackers sounds totally different due to the way they coded pc speaker output

i would have been pretty excited about this, but last month i learned renoise smile))

when do i compose on LSDJ? i used it for about five minutes at an-cat-max's house at christmas 2010

when do i compose generally? whenever i feel like it really. once a day at least. not usually in the first few hours after i have got up out of bed, and often not in the few hours before i go to bed, when i take my laptop which is not adequately equipped for tracking and sit in bed. but any time of day between those times is fine. quite often i compose more at the weekends than i do in the week.

is 4mat going to say "never" or am i?

didn't ctrix make one for his GATARI?

ages ago i had a dream where 8bc was some kind of fraternity and there was some hazing ritual to go through to get in (not particular far from the truth eh?). sabrepulse and epichunt (rememer him?) were really mean to me and one of them stole my sunglasses (??)

i also have had a dream where blitz lunar was squatting in zan-zan-zawa-veia's house and zanzan got back from holiday and lunar refused to leave
