Sweet, I knew this essay I wrote would come in handy.
Straight from the mouth of the master of Game Boy Color madness himself - http://wizwars-music.tumblr.com/post/33 … versus-cgb

Prosound modded DMGs are the best.

This statement is opinion, and I declare your opinion false. If I could right now I'd take a big shit on a pile of prosound modded DMGs.

listen to this poser shit.
i'm not even kidding.
really. not kidding.
this is my serious face.

Nah, turns 21 next March.

The 21st is MLK day so a lot of people will have it off from work / school (our main audience)...otherwise would've done Friday and Saturday.

Wizwars is actually from Az as well

Nah you got it in reverse man, haha. I'm from SoCal but I'm eventually moving to AZ. I've never been lucky enough to call the beautiful desert my home.

I'm hardly the main chiptune guy in Los Angeles, I'm just one of the only dudes who has been actively trying to set up chipmusic shows this year...lots of talent down here but people are busy.

But anyway a crew of people has kind of formed and hopefuly we'll be putting together a lot more shows. Next big one is Frequency 2.0, which is the two day fest that I apparently do now. It'll be at the end of January. 19th-20th I believe (not looking at a calendar).

If that were the case, they'd just cover the damn song, not compose something that sounds very much like it! tongue

Cafepress shirts look like iron on transfers you could make at home. Horrible quality at a high price.

Zazzle's prints look REALLY good, but both shirts I bought thru them, after a couple of washes the prints started to peel off. I've never heard any one else complain about this so maybe I was just unlucky. But the problem with them is that their shirts are too fucking expensive for anyone to ever want to buy one.

Screen printing at home is the way to go. The original run of Wizwars shirts were done by my homie Ingrid, whose dad had all the supplies we needed in his shed to actually make the screen ourselves...but even going to local company and having a screen made is cheap, and you can buy a couple dozen no name brand shirts in the fashion district for $30-40 I think it was.

Isn't it generally legal to compose a sound-alike track to avoid paying licensing?  For instance, the DVD releases of "Married...With Children" with the title music replaced to an original piece that sounds almost identical to "Love And Marriage" since they no longer had the rights to use the actual song and didn't want to pay more for licensing.

Regardless, while it's fun to to get the pitchforks every time someone commits a crime against the chipscene, Disney themselves probably had little to do with the trailer. The higher ups at a corporation that big don't give a fuck about things like trailers to an iPod app. That's low level shit. Controlling and moderating the comments on their YouTube channel is also incredibly low level (they probably have interns doing that shit) and knowing how the Disney company tends to operate I'm going to almost guarantee that they're instructed to remove anything remotely negative from the YouTube comments of any video.

The bottom line is that Anamanaguchi have a manager, pretty sure they have a lawyer or know how to contact one, and it's pretty simple for them to fight this one themselves.

This is the definition of dope shit.

A couple of things -

Lathe cuts on polycarbonate will supposedly last longer than dubplates. Dubplates are usually shit after 50 listens or so. Most companies who do the polycarbonate lathe cuts claim that if you take care of them they'll last as long as traditional records. Another big difference between the two is that dubplates sound as good as pressed vinyl at first, if I'm not mistaken. Anything cut on polycarbonate sounds like shit.

A shorter version of my "Welcome To Thrash City" EP was supposed to come out as a 7", and I was using Poly-Cut. The test copy sounded really muddy and I decided to abandon the concept. Depending on what you're looking for in terms of quality it might work just fine for you. I had a later project ("The Torture of Humans For The Sake of Art") that was specifically planned to be a lathe cut 7 inch and was mastered as such and everything, But by the time I contacted Poly-Cut the dude was having health problems and stopped taking orders / responding to people, This was last year so no idea if that shit is resolved or not.

ANYWAY, If you're putting out something that you don't mind having low sound quality, apparently these discs will hold up. I've done a tiny bit of research on them and never saw anything about them deteriorating at the same rate as dubplates (they're not the same thing, they're cut on different material).

A M command for each channel would be beautiful. Especially because you could do true panning. But I guess its probably impossible to control all the channels like that, its either all or none

This album is yet another example of some of the absolutely fucking fantastic yet relatively unknown chip artists we have floating around here in the Los Angeles area. So goddamn good.
