Hence why I take Greyhound!
Though of course you can only do this if you're a jobless piece of shit like myself and have the time to dedicate to 24+ hours one way on a bus.

cover my air fare and get me a show and i'll be there. *lulz* no seriously...
Hah, I don't even need airfare. Just a guaranteed show that I can hopefully sell some CDs at or something would be fantastic.

I want to be there. If someone potentially booked me for a show it might make it a bit easier to be there.

Re: Advice for your new net label (27 replies, posted in Constructive Criticism)
People giving you a zip file where all the songs aren't in a album folder. So instead of just dragging the album folder to my desktop from
the unzip program, I have to create a new folder on the desktop and name it whatever the artists name/album is. This isn't a huge deal, but if you're downloading releases regularly, it's SUPER annoying. Call me lazy or whatever, but I'd say it's the artist/label's laziness./rant
Last time I complained about this a bunch of people made fun of me.
Glad to know I'm not the only person with standards.

This release continues to grow on me. Was the soundtrack to adventures on the LA metro this morning. I'm diggin' it.

I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but I must admit that I'm somewhat disappointed with this release. Don't get me wrong, I still love it and it will most likely be part of my regular musical rotation for quite some time. But with the various single tracks that IAYD has been releasing on 8bc over the past year or two, I kind of expected his 4th release to blow my mind. Not figuratively speaking, I mean I literally expected soundwaves to cause my skull to collapse onto itself and leave me reduced to a pile of blood, guts and semen. And in many ways, musicially this release seems like a few steps backwards compared to the greatness of those tracks.
It's not a BAD release. It just seems a bit repetitive for my liking. Perhaps that was the intention. But there is very little variation between the songs, which surprised me considering that most of IAYDs single tracks lately have been of varying styles and tempos. The programing, the melodies and the beats are all top notch and some of the best Game Boy stuff around, I just feel like the songwriting isn't as strong as it could be, based on his other stuff.

I was on an episode of this show and it was a lot of fun! Even went out for pizza with SysOp afterwards, great time. I definitely recommend anyone coming thru to hit him up, his interviews do not suck and it's fun performing in the studio.

Me and my buddy Jett recorded everyone's sets!!!
I'll post it on here when I'm done editing everything into a listenable state.EDIT: Oh, and after the show I found a USB cable and a gameboy link cable, so if you know who's it might be let me know!
Don't post mine. I want to clean it up and release it. Because I'm a douche like that. Just send me a PM or a facebook message or something.

I've never been paid for a show that I've played in Los Angeles. My money comes from selling merch.
I've played a bunch of shows in Phoenix and I think I've been paid for every one of them. Usually around $50, though one night I was one of the top billed acts and I got around $80 (not bad considering the money was split between eight artists / bands or so), plus an extra $50 or so from selling CDs. I also played a show there where I was a headliner and the guy running the venue gave me the majority of the door money (which wasn't much due to low turnout) and went to give one of the other bands a small percentage, but they told him to give it to me since I was from out of town, which I thought was awesome.
I don't mind not getting paid by venues if my travel costs are low or non existent, if I have a good time, and if I sell merch.
And Mike, I'll definitely take you up on that beer sometime, haha.

I like how I complained about never getting my EMS cart to work with my GBA SP and then last night I decided to try again, and it worked the first time.
Based on that, I'll totally be getting another EMS cart soon.

I'll talk to a couple of SoCal chip artists this weekend and see if they want to come out. It would be rad to meet up and play with some other dudes.
