If pulled of well, I love that in a song! Unpredictability is what I find gets me thinking "Oh shiiiiit" and bopping my head, whether it be melodic, rhythmic or any other kind of unpredictability.

Someone in Holland made this one for us. It's pretty rad.

Really digging this! I love well-done music videos, ones that don't look like raw footage from an iPhone camera.

I used several different chips, but you can be sure they are legit 8-bit and 16-bit chips.

I'm curious, what chips? What systems?

8-bit music typically came from the games we all used to love and play, right? wink

1GB. There actually isn't a HUGE difference in rendering when you have more RAM. IIRC RAM is only more useful for if I wanted to do something else on my computer whilst the song is rendering.

True. RAM lets your computer multitask better, allowing more programs to be open at once. It doesn't make it any faster (but it does make it slower if you have little RAM, not having enough memory to render and stuff). SubWoofer, I think you're thinking of the processor wink

Ok I mean really I am taking this to an extreme here, but really I mean what we do is so marginal and incomprehensible to the average person that exploitation "artists" can pass off something mediocre as something groundbreaking just because it happened to be accessible enough and in the right venue for mass consumption – whether it be a "big name" with some uncleared samples and a claim to a magical MIDI box that makes C64 sounds, or a youtube account full of "clever" things like "8-bit covers."

At the end of the day though, I think being open and communicative about the kinds of fraud we see occurring at the fringes of this admittedly esoteric scene is the best way to negate future offenses. When people understand what we do, they won't be as readily accepting of plagiarism.

I think you're thinking too far into this, dude.

Moral of the story: people can steal music, don't be stupid and send them stuff without payment first.

With FL, the more synths and stuff you use, the slower exporting is.
I know that when I make an almost entirely sample-based song, it renders amazingly fast. But make a similarly-complex song with synths and soundonts and other generative thingsand exporting will take longer (something to do with converting the synths to samples, i guess)

My solution: take a teaspoon of cement in your morning tea and harden up!

I don't like being "that guy" who solves things appropriately, but you guys should just move on. you lost a few hours of your time making a song for some douche, but have spent the past few days talking about it here. in reality he is probably some jackoff youtube kid that does those "8bit covers", and if they turn up somewhere and he is taking credit, by all means put the kid on blast, but continuing this thread wont make him pay you.

Yes it will.

That's how the chip community works
