Hi people.

I've made a DMG with a SGB CPU in it. This makes the boot completely quiet and VERY fast.
I've made a comparison with a regular DMG. Both DMG's are connected to the same power socket, and are turned on simultaneously.
I'm running 8CYLINDER live drum software POUNDER 2.0 on both DMG's. Also I do this PROPERLY with heated air. Not some clumsy soldering iron. This is a top quality solder job. Se pic's if you want: http://www.flickr.com/photos/62235217@N … otostream/

Check it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ra8opq1UvEg

If you are interested I'll make one for you for 75 euro.

I'm from Denmark. So steep shipping prices for US people is expected.

EDIT: I need some cash. 60 Euro will get you a modded DMG CPU board, with SGB CPU. !

really? i cut the region pin, I was told it would be no different to a ntsc nes, but i guess it makes sense... maybe a resistor is needed.

Cutting that pin only bypass the region CIC chip. You need to change the clock speed of the NES.

PAL is 50 Hz.
NTSC is 60 Hz.

This is what causes the audible tuning problem.

However I'm unaware if that is the speed of the crystal oscillator that is in the NES but I don't think so. There's probably a clock divider in there dividing a crystal of maybe 4000 Hz.

How much is a white dmg-01 with box, and even link port cover worth ?

There is noone.

And the rest of you need help. Professional help because your obviously demented trolls...

Yesterday I dug out my old N64.
And I found 2 "1080 Snowboarding" cartridges.

They are identical on the outside. Both stating to be Euro cartridges.

BUT one is with japanese text ?! WTF!

I took both apart, and indeed they are different on the inside. It's not a proto or anything just different.

So what is going on here ? Is this normal ? Should the jap even be able to play on my euro machine ?

e.s.c. edit: made your thread title actually say what it is about to comply with forum rules

maybe that will help out those not in-the-know already about how to do this...

Can't see how you can not be in the know

LEDS GO! FTW !

Love this big_smile I don't understand shit thou....

You can't have 2 crystals connected at the same time. The GB will totally spass out. Get some money and use the ASCII schematic Zuberi made.

Glitch Militia - Yeah Im trying to get PAL versions of BEATBOX and NESK-1 going.  Once I get my hands on a PAL NES to test with then it should just be a matter of time.

I'd be very interested in sending you a PAL NES if you send me a cartridge or two of your awesome software when you finish it. big_smile

But get a good fine-tip adjustable soldering iron first, it's more useful. And with some care and a little solder wick you can do this without one.

I'm with Arfink on this. And do yoself a favour and get proper gear like Velleman which is VERY high quality. With good care it will continue to work till you get old and die.

Thanks for the nice reply's.

Is that a compliment smile ?

Could someone elaborate what the 2 x 64 K S-RAM in the DMG-01 is used for ? The bootstrap or ?

Ah yes it is. But I think I disliked the DIY flash GB carts I made more. Anyways pictures are up of both internal diy gb carts and the SGB transplant.

herr_prof said it. No waiting for boot and no nasty nintendo "PLINGGGG!!!!"
