You able to record some sound/video of it? I use the Roland Micro Cube. I've found anything smaller is a bit of a push.

I'm perfectly okay with people talking about other forums here, but time and time again there have 8bc.org posts here asking for updates about 8bc.org.

It's like a free support team for 8bc.org. Let the good sites prosper.

8bc.org - "We don't need you! Go make your own site, our site is 20,000 strong. All done by meee."

Months later "...but can you help us out so our users know what's happening when it's down, the server is broke, the frontpage changes, our songs don't work or our domain name becomes available, thanks."

This isn't an 8bc status update board.

Hello

A friend of mine has a problem with his LSDJ cart, he said the battery was loose when he got it and he soldered it in place. It worked for a long while, but now when he turns it off - the songs wipe. Is that truly down to just the battery? Is there anyone in the UK that wouldn't mind having a look at it?

Syphus Syndrome:

In psychology, Syphus syndrome is a term used to describe a paradoxical psychological phenomenon wherein hostages express adulation and have positive feelings towards their captors, believing themselves to be Newcastle-based musician, Syphus, mistaking a lack of abuse from their captors as an act of acceptance into the chip music scene.

You should try to promote a live show with your pamphlet.

Like, a flyer?

SurfaceDragon wrote:

I just don't think words will be able to convey the chip-music mindset to the general public.

Why? It works for the hundreds of music publications out there.

SurfaceDragon wrote:

Art is hard. And most people will never understand or appreciate the time and effort you sacrifice to create your art.

Bullshit.

SurfaceDragon wrote:

Chip-music is not a thing that everyone can appreciate. To most people chip-music is just old ugly video-game noises.

Music is not a thing that everyone can appreciate. It's a moot point.

SurfaceDragon wrote:

There are people who see chip-music as an art but I bet you won't find many at your average Airport.

Why?

SurfaceDragon wrote:

Young people can relate more to this scene and they also have more time to devote to appreciating and evolving the chip-music art form.

Again, utter bullshit! How can young people relate more? 'Young people', I take as anyone who is not over the age of 18 and therefore is bullshit. The majority of people on these boards are mid to late twenties and have plenty of time to devote and appreciate.

Just be prepared to be met with skepticism.

I may or may not have been trolled. My point stands. -.-

I think it's pretty terrible that you even thought doing this would be okay. The guy who unplugged it was clearly just distressed. There was like two or three old women in the video that were obviously just being ignored by the music. The least you could have done was keep it down. You can't expect everyone to like this music and anyone who does should be expected to listen to it in designated zones/their bedrooms.

Hello everybody.

I am based in Dundee, the birthplace of Grand Theft Auto, a city on the East Coast of Scotland. There is a huge scene of video-game fans, chip enthusiasts, video-game developers and game design companies.

I want to open a Video-game Cafe to welcome in all the brilliant people of the city.

If licenses permit, there will be chip shows monthly or quarterly, show-casing artists from all over the UK and the world. Live music, workshops for those interested in video-game, circuit-bending, open-source products, design, art and open arms to those interested in video-games as entertainment and an art-form!

If you can help in any way - ideas, advice or funding you will be revered as even more legendary than you already are. Chipmusic.org has existed for such a short time and I've already witnessed more support, kindness and ingenuity than anything other forum I have ever been a part of, and for that - I would like to thank all of you.

In terms of NTSC working on PAL machines - if your TV is less than 10 years old it will most likely can run NTSC DVDs.
PCs, 'AnyDVD' is available for multi-region.
MacBooks can't play NTSC. I've yet to here of a way around it. It's one of my two hates towards the machine. (The second being it can't be mini-cds. They just float about and don't play, and can't be removed!)
