this morning one of the horses that i cycle past on the way to work was rolling around on his back with his belly and legs in the air and I thought of you, ant1.

and then when i get to work and look at the internet you have a new release full of loverly feelings.

hey, you all realise zat time spent has absolutely no relation to effort whatsoever, right?

yes i work with people who can spend all afternoon ordering a replacement warrenty phone for a customer. that is a lot of time for something that takes me 5 minutes and there is clearly no effort there.

bad music can be good.
i sometimes like music that i dont understand or like.
sometimes because it is funny sometimes because it is not funny.
just dont let people tell you what to do.
other people are mean.

where does improvisation fall?

i do quite a lot of that. where you spend no time making music but release it anyway mistakes and all.

what i've learned from this thread is that most people have deleted their tumblrs or have not updated them for 2 years

if i havent looked at a thread and i am logged in then you cannot see if it has been closed because the little pink speech bubble is in the way.

once i have read the thread or i am not logged in then there is a little cross that indicates that it is closed.

sorry for the bump but i guess its better than a new thread?

anyway now that its been out a while im really interested to see/hear the fancy things that people here have done with this?

im loving triggering it from the game boy so a few tracks should be appearing here and there soon.

When people talk about EDM it makes me think of the kind of popular stuff that they might play on mainstream radio. Dance music that people would go and see at some corporate sponsored event in a stadium, dance music that your Mum might hum along to, dance music that they play alongside the likes of Robbie Williams in those horrible no trainers clubs in town, etc...

I guess the reason is that whenever I see the term in the press it's generally alongside names like Lady Gaga, Tiësto, David Guetta, Skrillex, Swedish House Mafia, even the Black Eyed Peas. Fuck there is even Justin Bieber posted with an EDM tag on reddit.

But you know pop-dance music has always existed. I never liked Fatboy Slim. The Chemical Brothers quickly got boring when they started colaborating with the likes of some guy from Oasis.

I'll just continue to ignore it :P

can you maybe post some mp3s rather than fastracker instruments?

we are using lsdj after all :)

maybe i should post it in constructive critism or maybe we should have asked some popular artists.

i just got sent an amazing demo of LSDJ and nanoloop 2.3. um different gameboys? :)

id have problems syncing the c64 cos the tempos are so nutty. i think mister spastic uses a midi box sid thing.
