i want to, but it's hard for me to gather the patience to learn another tracker and get everything sorted!
i'm in the extremely privileged position of being able to do DMG + tb-303 stuff though, if i can figure out how (or wing it completely!)

it could be worth mentioning "hey i'm dude and i make music with a thing" at some shows just so they're like "hey check it out, dude isn't just playing songs off an ipod!"

then again some people will still think that regardless, so maybe it pays to not give a shit!

when i read "timed breaks in the audio giving it an oscillator feel" i was expecting some kind of AM modulation (yes i know the M in AM stands for "modulation") but it seems to just be DJ STUTTER FX

but it's dj stutter fx that make your track actually worth listening to

safafa by jellica and the knife city ep were also reaaaaaaaaaally good!

Update: I can't get my stupid VST thing to work. I'm trying to send CC01 messages to a CZ-101 (turns vibrato on/off) and it's doing jack shiiiiiiit. Works fine when sent out of a Dashboard or MIDI OUT instance in FL, though. ffffff.

But I still prefer physical because I like looking at liner notes and artwork while I'm listening to the album. I love vinyl because the record sleeves are so big so you can really take a good look at the art.

word. listening to thick as a brick while reading all the fictional newspaper articles on the sleeve = so good.

i'd like to see more 3D papercraft or origami in album art, that'd be nifty

In fact I think it's even worse when a musician has these misconceptions because they go into it with unrealistic and overinflated expectations of what their efforts will actually generate back.

bingo!

for me personally, the point in my life where I really understood the music business (as opposed to just learning at TAFE and being like "oh that's a bit shit innit") was the point where I decided I didn't want to try to make money from my music.

if you want to give me money for my music though please do because all my undies have holes in them and i need new ones

mate your track is obviously not worth listening to if it doesn't precisely timed breaks in the audio

but yeah, i know it's hard to explain this stuff in lay-terms but most of the people who would buy this - or at least the people who should buy this - will understand synthesis terminology. so the condescending writeup is a bit grating!
