Speaking of overpriced, remember the jazzmutant lemur? That shit was like 1500$. The iPad is cheap by comparison. And extremely versatile. I used to drool over the lemur. But yeah..

I just got around to hearing this. Soooooooo good... add a few more 'o's oooooooo even.

My favorite was Linde's track I think. Those yamaha fm chips are sick for acid sounds.

But the whole thing is super chill

Shit he's gonna be headbangin on youtube any day now. What a loser.

Pockets have been proven to sound different to DMGs, with what is generally regarded as a thinner sound. Read this article.

Great link! Thank you smile
Though it does not help me feel great about the pocket's sound tongue

They do have a thin sound. DMG is the nicest sound, but GBCs are a nice compromise. They are pretty small, they get pretty good bass after prosound, and they have a much faster cpu than DMG. Wizwars songs crash unless u run them on a GBC.

Oh yeah better battery life too.

I think I have a disease where I like collecting vinyl releases. I like the sound of the record. I'll actually take the time to rip them to mp3s. Vinyl also has bigger artwork for sticking on a wall. Yeah cds can be cool too though if they come with cool stuff. I can go either way really. Digital downloads are of course hugely convenient. To some up, I think it's awesome if the artist takes the time to make vinyl, and I would almost certainly get that version.

just wanted to say i use this and appreciate it. commenting from the app would seem cool for a future update ( not that i know what that entails or if its possible)

Well I appreciate your appreciation. big_smile  Thanks guise It's good to know it's useful. Yes that's totally a planned feature. Just a matter of time really. I'm still working on this I just got side tracked for a while. I've got other projects going so it's a balance.

As for Android, it's a possibility. I don't want to promise anything, cuz I don't want to not deliver on it. I'm getting into Android a little.

I'm almost ready to release an update. Just need to finish up "offline playlists". So yeah it's not dead. Here's some screen shots of some new things.

I haven't made generative music on and old computer, but I find the most pleasing stuff (to my ears) is deterministic. It can be simple. Like starting a few counters with different lengths, and selecting a number from each. So 0 will send a trigger maybe. Then add them together to trigger an instrument. Pitches could be selected from a list of chords or something in a certain key. You can step through the list with each tick, then the triggers will happen in different spots. Maybe set different loop points.

It's kind of a generally useable idea, of using different repeating patterns and merging them together. It could be done with sequencers and stuff.

that "write a hundred songs," "practise for ten thousand hours" method to becoming good makes you skip your punk period and become dream theater far too early into your life. please don't become dream theater

That's true but hopefully if your punk you don't go asking for anyone's approval. That works out better.

That continues playback is something I've been missing for a long time. I think Bandcamp got that for about 2 years already.

bandcamp's playback is pretty sketchy. it saves position to cookies every second and then restarts playback. not very pleasant, but work.

That bugs. I have to allow cookies for each page. Why? That's silly.

Hold on my gameboy's warming up..

In the past few days it's been:

Mass effect 3  -  kind of an action-RPG, but in outer space.
Starcraft 2       -  kind of an RTS, but in outer space.

If they are, it would be through Virtual Console on either Wii or DSi/3DS.

It is.

But if I own a DMG, that doesnt mean I'm in the Wii market. They don't make carts anymore for my portable game thing. Once they stop supporting it, stop making money from it,  I think they should have to get out 'the way.

Actually even if they were profiting from it, we're just making our own hardware...they shouldn't have any control over that. It doesn't break any patents or copyrights.

I don't  know who I'm arguing with...England?
