go arfink!

that a good point Herr_proffesor. When the track is crowded with massive sound, the hiss thing is really at low volume or not present. since i have a lot of contrast in my compositions, is a kind of a problem to me, at certain parts.

Nordloef, i love the hiss and stuff. Is just  me maybe, but in a live situation i want to use the real hardware and deal with all what the machine have to give. with a good PA system I can get the sound where i want to take it.

But a recording (which i hate btw) is a sample of my production, so i want the best sound possible. Is a matter of taste in the recording than disrespecting the machine sounding quality.

thanks akira, would you mind suggesting me what plugins/machines are you using and in what stage? post-production?

thanks everyone for your feedback.

thanks kris k, i'll try to see the workaround on that.

kinectic turtle, you're totally right.

thanks for the kind comments jellica, the stuff that i've sent to you was very edited and the all unwanted stuff went away.

saskrotch, i've heard some productions, (like covox-infiltrator EP, or A.M.U - Diamond) and the sound quality is really well produced. specially in the AMU one, it sounds very clear and produced.

The aim of the final product is for a electro netlabel (not chip) so is important to try my best to achieve the almost (histeric) perfect quality that i can give in the result.

EDIT: thanks for sharing your experiences btw. smile

while no sound playing, but the machine playing silence, even when the K command is present.

I managed to record it channel by channel, and noticed a weird hiss while recording. Is really present on headphones; when everything is playing is not present; my music have some solo channel moments and sounds like an electromagnetism coming from somewhere. (?) maybe is the screen?.

Is there anyone recording by single channel and mixing it on a DAW and notice this kind of behaviour?

some kind of noise gate/noise reduction treatment will hopefully make the diference. any ideas or workarounds?

i have 4 DMG and they all behave the same.

(this one, recorded channel by channel separated, EQ'ed and cutted every little silence, plus some mastering (?)) prosound DMG song mode

(this other one is the same track, EQ'ed plus some plugins for making it sound louder (?)) prosound DMG live mode

please hear the first 10 seconds to notice what i'm taking about. Headphone recomended.

thanks in advance!

cheers

i feel your pain akira.

definetively the info on the internet is lost/erased. i remember doing the hex thingy by reading it somewhere (maybe the lsdj wiki?)

the thing that i recall is that it can't work on the goomba color, i have to use the goomba classic instead.

so, then in the emu options you can make the proyect to save/load itself automagically.

the drawback with goomba is that you can't save the proyect ala LSDJ, i mean in the song library along with the space we all are used to use; instead it saves in the memory of the rom (like when on a real gameboy you play around with the song but never save it, is still present.) it will work like a save state, and only one by each copy of the goomba_lsdj rom.

so you'll need the classic goomba and the correct sav: LSDJ1.gba for LSDJ1.SAV in the correct .sav folder ( there was a .sav folder on eazyflash4, that's the one that i've used).

I've quitted to lsdj on goomba about 3 years from now so i'm trying to remember all of this.

One of my favorite manifest. Except for that facist side, politically and also on the "the new sounds of the orchestra stuff" fuck instruments families, that shit is so 1800. Interesting reading anyways.

have read somewhere about the goomba sav file  being extracted with an hex editor of the file size of the .gb version sav on the lsdj wiki, can't find it now.

i got it working with an ez-flash4, some time ago.

good luck!

EDIT: have you looked the lsdj download page? there are some special "patched" versions. Only one .sav each lsdj goomba copy.

so, multiple lsdj goomba rom copies with their particular .sav:

lsdj.gba   -> lsdj.sav
lsdj2.gba -> lsdj2.sav
...

like that.

Also, if i recall correctly, the save state can't handle multiple lsdj proyects, only the one loaded on the memory (not in a saved proyect), 'cause of goomba limitations. feel free to correct me.

I don't like it. the clipping on the "prosound mod" is missed on the recording, but from what can i hear on the headphone output the bass mod is clippy. I prefer to pump the bass from the mixer instead of having issues with more clipping.

if there's a way to bypass the capacitors and add an extra output just for the sake of having this bass output it will be nice.

thanks for sharing!
