is there any particular reason most of you haven't gone to chicago chip gigs in the past?

Well, I'm relatively new to chip and I haven't been in the area long term for about a decade, but if this actually happens I'll make sure to introduce myself.

Let's see...
Last year I was in China, studying and working and playing in a band (which was actually on Chinese television, if that means anything). This year I'm in the US, chilling, making chipmusic, working on an album, exercising to increase my vertical jump and being with family. Next year I'm heading to Scotland to attend the University of Glasgow and get a Master's Degree, hopefully playing some chip shows with fellow artists in the area and pondering my future.

Eh, why not? It's not like I have a ton of 3DS friends.

Expect random swapnotes of robots and 3d poo.

Yup, I'm down for this. Make it happen. Boom.

Don't worry about the small text. I believe it was Roosevelt who said, "Speak softly and carry a big game boy." Tear it up, Danimal!

The best advice I ever got was to write 100 songs, knowing they will suck.

Great advice. Reminds me of a pottery class I heard about were half the class was instructed to make as many pots as they could throughout the semester and the other half was told to spend the whole time on one pot. In the end, the students who made tons of pots made the better pots. I dunno if it's true, but the lesson of learning through repetition, trial and error seems right on.

I've actually done cover of Landed. And a mashup of Hiroshima and one of my own (ooold) tracks

That mash-up was pretty sweet and I'd love to hear your "Landed" cover.

The melodies and everything are nice, I just feel like a lot of it blurs together.  See if you can't find a way to make a few parts pop a bit more.

Still Alive: I like the gangster stroll beat. I felt a bit like it was building up to something but never really got there.
Requiem For Lexi: Pretty nice jam.
The Elvis Beatdown: Nice, especially the part where it started to pick up.
Breakbeat Boss: Aptly titled, felt like an epic boss battle where the boss keeps going more and more crazy. Definitely the best of the EP.
Overall, fun music.

Sweet, all some of my favorites. (And I agree with you Victory Road, best to keep it classy with Brick). Just send them to me when you finish and when there are enough we can release a nice little package of Ben Folds deliciousness out into the internets.

I've been working on an LSDJ cover of Ben Folds' "Zak and Sara" and thought it might be cool if a bunch of artists covered Ben Folds songs. Any interest/Ben Folds fans out there?

Tentatively, here is who has what:

Zak and Sara - The Laohu
Annie Waits - Theta_Frost
Brick - Victory Road
Song for the Dumped - godinpants
Rockin' the Suburbs - mysterystain
Underground - roboctopus
Fired - HPizzle
Landed - DKSTR
Evaporated - Firebrand Boy
Smoke - Telerophon

All styles are welcome. This is mainly for fun, so no harsh deadline. However, it would be nice if we could try and get it done before the end of August, just so it doesn't perpetually languish. Then we can see if someone wants to do cover art and try to get it hosted somewhere.

I dig this. It really pumps me up when the volume is cranked.
