Orton beat Kane with his finisher, the "RKO", following a protracted brawl around the arena - taking advantage of the Falls Count Anywhere stipulation - where neither competitor could seem to gain an advantage. Both men seemed to know how to dodge the other's trademark maneuevers; Kane lost because he couldn't successfully perform his piledriver or chokeslam as a surprise.

Daniel Bryan and Sheamus fought a long, bitter battle, where Bryan willingly and deliberately broke the rules, going down one DQ in order to gain an immediate submission on his much larger adversary. Jericho's battleplan was muddled by a desire to humiliate Punk, who for his part concentrated on hitting the challenger as hard in the head as he could. Following the dispatch of his tormentor Punk celebrated with his family.

Layla redebuted, handily defeating the Bellas to become the newest women's wrestling champion.

The main event of the evening featured Brock Lesnar applying mixed martial arts in attempt to overcome Cena's tenacity. He came very close by forcing his opponent to bleed right at the start of the match but medical officials allowed the match to proceed. After weathering a tremendous storm of violence, the Marine suckered the previous UFC top dog in with a chain-wrapped right hook and quickly hit a slam off his shoulders to mercifully end the match. In victory, though, Cena looked far weaker than his rival, going as far as to address the audience to admit that he expected to take time off after the fight.
