if you're doing bandcamp, then why do you need to do mediafire at all? people can just download from bandcamp.

Personally I chose to do simultaneous release due to limited number of free downloads off of bandcamp and since I'm poor and upstart it'll be a while untol i upgrade to more free downloads. And I was thinking of the future. The attitude of not downloading something because it has a mediafire is kinda shitty imo.

I'll add those to your dibs, and add that to the list of songs nonclaimed. Thanks for your input :3 pm me if you'd like a different link to your name than your chipmusic account.

Someone forward this forum link to anamanaguchi. When they reject it someone else will pick it up :3

Hahaha thanks but no worries! I'd feel lame submitting an already written song anyway. wink

Well if you want you can submit it anyway, do jingle bell rock, or remix it if you'd like (currently have you in op for jingle bell rock but post here or pm me for changes) because I've already got a collaborator for the cover I switched to :3

OP changes: roster to confirmed song selection. Pm me or post here for song selection for roster. REMINDER: you can pm me a different url to link to your name besides your chipmusic account.

Incredibly loaded questions, made huge assumptions and left no room for explanations when needed. Very amateur. Perhaps you should look at 'how to create a survey' before you use any of this information to imply anything about musicians.

I don't understand why surveys are more useful than interviews in this situation, as you're not compiling data or figures about anything, especially not in large enough numbers to create any useful statistics. Why not just interview people?

I agree.

Try using a qualitative methodology. Interviewing musicians would be the best bet as Edward Shallow states.

You'll get a lot more meaningful data than through an online survey.

I did it but this makes sense but really he'd want to interview the top artist and nothing ever is good from only skimming the top.

When I'm in a slump I stay up for 32 hours and then try to write something, I'm so out of it I usually don't know what the hell I just wrote (hence how alot of my weird music was written) but I enjoy every minute of it, and I also learn/try out something new

Every now and then I pull an all-nighter and for some reason I seem to pull myself together when I'm half asleep and work like a zombie. But that's usually on a weekend where like I woke up late already and I didn't do anything all day so I'm not exactly exhausted I'm just wired. is weird.

But really like try to imagine music in your head when you're everywhere and then just flip out your phone or a recorder and record that bit. Its a really secure feeling to know that you have 50+ ideas on your phone that you haven't messed with and the best part is, is that I actually never incorporate them exactly they always end up doing something different and imo better. Sitting down and forcing yourself to write isn't exactly "communicating with your muse" its more just like making it any other mundane task that your brain can shut down during. I only find success in writing when im REALLY into it, and its the consistency of such is the reason why I'm sticking with writing chipz.

edit: also during creative slumps I find it a good idea to make covers so that your musical brain still gets some exercise but your creativity is stretched minimally, but enough to exercise it for later.

Okay cool. It'll be nifty because everything's reversed. Normally the verse is major chords and it's chorus is in minors but now my verse is in minor and the chorus has some fitting major accompaniment. Also it's got a 4/4 swing beat instead of that boring 3/4 waltz.

Nice. I got a taste of some minor-ing of a carol and it turned out pretty sweet. looking forward to your submission!

OP updates: Added Chipmusic links to those that were before unlinked, except for one unconfirmed participator and one who does not have a chipmusic and does not wish to share his self-proclaimed "bad" bandcamp songs. Also some minor formatting.

whenever i think of a cool like i bust out my phone and record it. If i ever feel musically frusterated I go back to that. It's not bad screwing around, I'll probably never live down "Gaia" but even taking those crappy chips and remastering and remixing until they're rad might work.

changes being made to roster PM me links to soundcloud/bandcamp/facebook for roster if you'd like!

edit: I just thought of a good idea of default linking your chipmusic profile if applicable and then if you want me to add bandcamp or soundcloud ill change it. I'll be doing that when I have more time later this weekend.

Would we be allowed to do a second song?
If not, I may put together a medley/mashup of sorts.

EDIT: Actually, I call Bow Down from Invader Zim's most horrible X-mas ever.

Mashup or invader zim sounds pretty nifty! I think medleys would be great in lue of multiple songs since we have so many collaborators it seems only right to only have one track per person. if there are any this/that in the list it is due to indecisiveness and not having two slots tongue

edit: put you down for bow down you can post or pm me for any changes smile

OP EDIT: added rules regarding submission. One track per person, medleys are supported if your track is taken or you would like to do multiple tracks. Also RE: Submission. Upon submission give me 1-3 genre-description so the track listing in OP can represent the diversity the album will have.
