I still can't believe MC Lars is going to Yuma.

So I found an old unfinished version of All I Want for Christmas on one of my carts this morning.
I was thinking about dusting that off and improving/finishing it, but then I read the rest of the thread and found that Lavar might be doing that.
I PMed him to make sure, just in case he decides to do Let it snow instead.
If not, that's cool too though, I can stick with Angels. :v

I'd say work on the song you're set to AND finish that at the same time. I mean worse comes to worse you have your own christmas single to put out in December tongue If you're worried about tardiness I edited my OP it reads something along the lines of: "keep in contact with me and there shouldn't be a problem"

Nope, all you need is a syncbox (low-gain's designs) and some cables. And of course 3 carts and gameboys. I just wish I had another stereo channel on my mixer. . .

droool.

OP Thread update! MUCH NEEDED ORGANIZATION. I was using quote in leu of spoiler tags because i simply forgot about them but now that I have remembered, voila. Not much information changing, though.

also: I have thought up a good point regarding logistics:
If I'm hosting is it proper/acceptable to host the album on my own personal bandcamp? I was also thinking of having packaged .mp3 with album cover and .txt .zips to give to you guys to dispers as you will too. Is this method of distribution good? Any thoughts on it?
Also someone asked me about "prereleasing" singles. I mentioned in OP about this, streaming would be cool to promote it and everything but I was going to leave it up to the collective about whether or not we were going to hold each other accountable in regards to, say, distributing their christmas single early without much regard for the collab.
Considering people's excitement regarding this project I don't foresee issues exactly I just wanted to know everyone's thoughts.

It might be more of an issue if that app wasn't completely free to download. However, technically (and I could be wrong here) isn't this app free, and therefore making no profit?

Also as someone else pointed out, how else would you expect a Disney Pixel app to sound if you wanted it to sound happy and be "popular with kids today"? I do agree that a proper nod to the inspiration should be given at least with it being that close. It's just common courtesy. Still, this can be used to further Anamanaguchi's popularity. Think about it. "We are so well known that even Disney wants to sound like us, here's the proof." That's a pretty big name to throw around. Even so, as others have pointed out if they can prove a point and get Disney to settle? These guys might be set for life. Just sayin'. If we look at the bigger picture here, there is a chance this could unintentionally be the best thing to happen to them.

Let's just see what happens. Wouldn't it be hilarious if this thing backfired and Anamanguchi got rich? Next thing you know they are a "sellout" working for Disney and now everybody hates them. Oh internet, what a tangled web we weave.

I think everyone's talking about how it sounds like a very specific song "Jet Pack Blues" and by like I mean composition, leads, riffs just in a diff key

Updating OP regarding pre-release, tardiness, and to celebrate the acceptance of the second early submission! Hope everyone's having a great week and am looking forward to your submissions! big_smile

edit: Now with added excitement!

I still hate batteries though.

so much, but I like having 3 sets of rechargables and 1 backup set of regulars for my DMG's. rotating energy isn't much of a hassle and the life is decent so that rotations aren't like every day. Maybe once a week.

well, if you're just ow.ly the url, you should do a public dropbox link, that way, the zip save dialogue just pops up and no one has to look at any ads or click anything else!

As for Mediafire, I'm not hating on a choice of filesharing service, I'm saying with the tons and tons of chip releases out there, you can't listen to all of them and unless someone says "ZOMG you gotta hear the new (insert artist here) release and it's on mediafire," you have to do SOME judging the book by its cover to weed out what you're gonna download. I contend that you shouldn't be using filesharing as a method of music distribution at all. Look at all those people who released via Megaupload. And I'm not insulting anyone, I'm just simply saying that you're limiting your audience by releasing via filesharing because I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Understandable. My own personal example was a simultaneous release bandcamp/mediafire packaged real nice in the "Releases" section a few weeks ago and it was sounding like people will pass it up simply because the ow.ly link turned out to be a mediafire. I'm not expecting people to find it on mediafire and go OH YES but I would hate to find out that people exited the window instead of clicking download when they found my ow.ly went to mediafire.

sick, I knew disney would totally see progressive gameboy alternate time sig music with noise channel blastbeats as the best marketing decision for the upcoming taylor swift-duff-montana's

if only we were 12 we might get signed by them

btw this is about to come out and I'm sure there will be many other chip ripoffs allllllllllllll over this

Disney paid royalties up the butt to have every video game character/song ever, but be prepared to listen for your song in the movie.

Just curious: how's the chip scene in Riverside?

Felt the need to include this little addendum in an attempt to prevent misunderstandings. Not that those ever happen on forums, of course... ;3
