cool vid! could be edited more succinctly though, but thanks for sharing this :>

More like saccharine boy.
Well, you can't write off reputation as being unimportant. Reputation is kind of a big deal in any community.
I don't really think it's just that, though. This thing, while a good effort, just smacks of "amateurity" and it just feels off, for all the reasons that have been listed before. Probably once you actually take the CC that has already been given and use it to improve the article, people will probably give a care to give whatever "useful CC" you are looking for. As it is, though, they probably couldn't give a Gameboy's link-port cover about this article, and they don't really care to improve it. After awhile people get tired of giving advice, tips, feedback and cc to a person who refuses to listen and act accordingly.
For example, why has this thread title not changed after 4 pages of people complaining about it? Though I admire your strength of will. Don't compromise your integrity, man, is what I always say.
Bit wish, I don't know how long you have been in this game, and I don't know how long everybody who's posted in this thread has been in the chipmusic thing. It's really the "heavy-hitters" who have the most say in these types of issues (the "chiptune as a verb" thing). I haven't been in this thing long enough to know every single one of them, so forgive me if I don't recognize you guys. But if the response in this thread is indicative of the feelings majority of the "scene" and you can't understand how they feel, maybe you just need to spend more time in the game.
I really think you should just leave it as is, forget about this thread, and come back in a few months or years and revisit the article after you have had more experience in all things chiptune and see if you can't find out what needs improvement on your own. And don't try to set yourself up as an expert if you aren't one, ya know? People can tell. Humility is actually an important thing, especially when you are new.
Edit: All love, man. I'm not trying to put you down.
Edit: The absence of the input of certain key-people is telling. Looks like there are more than a couple newbs who's opinions matter about as much as yours and mine, lol.
Please don't make things worse than they already are. Just let it go, man, step back, look at yourself, and learn from the experience. The ability to be self-critical is sometimes crucial to one's success.
Edit: shoot... I didn't realize that post was so old... <)<
What exactly about it doesn't work? Does it give a message "Not Compatible with this device"?
You'll definitely have to sync it to your google account and stuff.
Edit: Go to "Settings>Accounts/Sync" or something like that, and enter your username and password for your google/gmail account.
I'm quite sure nanoloop works on tablets.
Shoot, I better go check my mediafire account and make sure they don't mess with any of my stuff... does mediafire allow changing of filenames?
That really was very nice.
Those grey buttons on that rgb boy is so niiiice.
thursdaycustoms wrote:Mine works for me every time now. All I have to do is change it from master to midi then immediately start LSDJ while still in the menu screen and then start Ableton. Even syncing two game boys like this is working perfectly.
This works for me too! Ultimately I'd like to find a less finicky way to do this, but this method works pretty consistently. I just need that tri-wing >_>
I got tired of waiting until I could order a tri-wing and just used a tiny eyeglass-repair-sized flathead screwdriver (it actually came with my soldering iron toolbox kit) and stuck it in one of the knotches. Worked pretty well for me.
whoa whoa whoah, what? I'm just trying to figure out why this is my first time hearing about the Ad Infinitum project, and where can I find out more about it, and are there youtube videos of the performance? What is this exactly? It sounds really interesting.
Also, the music is really cool. It's so atmospheric.
Sweet. I had forgotten all about this.
Edit: What I mean to say is, I hadn't realized the deadline was coming up so fast.
Bit wish wrote:i never called it or anything else "an article about chiptune".
Yet this thread is called "I WROTE AN ARTICLE ON HOW TO CHIPTUNE"
<joestar>Your next line will be "An article on 'How to chiptune' is not the same as an article 'about chiptune' in general"</joestar>
pulsar is another lsdj clone but for nes
Just wanted to point out that HivelyTracker is not an LSDJ clone, just in case anybody was confused.
I think I might try working on a skin for this, or at least modifying an existing skin.

You about other trackers. Learn about them
Thank you for the useful cc and not spewing useless douchebagery all over me. I'll make sure to add those.
Dumb android keyboard is dumb. That should have been "You said you don't know anything about other trackers. You should learn about them..." and I might add "... so you can give your readers a bit more options and a wider scope on the available free tools. It's good to be well-rounded it, or at least smooth over the edges a little ;D".
Every thing i mentioned in there that you can buy is stuff you need to run lsdj.
I only skimmed the article, but technically the only thing you really need to buy to run lsdj is LSDJ, since you probably already own a computer. But you probably already mentioned that you can run it in an emulator so that's okay. You could possibly mention that a USB Game Controller is useful, since one of the biggest complaints I hear about people using emulated LSDJ is the difficulty of using a keyboard.
Does the Pokemon game play in other Gameboys? It sounds more like a problem with your game than with the Gameboy.
