I agree with sandnell, I think splitting the board is going to result into one board becoming the new 'general discussion' and the other one probably having not a lot of posts. I think having a few well-visited broadly-defined boards trumps having a lot of 'empty' boards

I always send full tracks via soundcloud in a separate, private set. No serious label is going to consider you if you send teasers. Providing a set also guarantees no-one can just download the tunes and spread them without going through a huge amount of trouble. You can also check plays this way which helps to see how your tracks are received. I also make sure to make a separate set for each label or person I send it to.

The best advice I can give you is to follow the submission guidelines of the label closely! If they ask for Mp3 via wetransfer you have no choice basically and you have to assume they're going to treat your tracks with dignity and respect. Another suggestion is to not just try labels that have had a good run of releases/artists but also look closely at how the labels actually promote their music. IMO a label with a good track record but bad promotion is trumped by a relatively unknown label with good promotion.

I would like in on this! I'll send you something soon! big_smile

Vegas Diamond is kinda cheesy and that's why I picked it. I came up with the name a long time ago when I had this jam-band and we needed names to refer to pieces in our song-routine thing and I guess it stuck in my mind.

I make hip-hop-like music. Here's my soundcloud profile: https://soundcloud.com/vegas-diamond
I'd be very interested in collabs or compilations, I would love to hear some more chip-hop tracks.

The stuff on my soundcloud is fairly outdated, I'm working on some new, heavier material with LSDJ (I used nanoloop before)

About the 2D sidescrolling MMO, are you maybe thinking of Maplestory? AFAIK it has an FF-like job or class system, stuff like black mages and a whole lot of other FF-inspired/JRPG inspired stuff.

Then again the sprites aren't FF-like really so idk

I'm probably one of those fake guests because I never take the time to sign in except to post (like right now)

I think this might have to do with the adaptor you are using, not the mixer. If the adapter is mono 1/8" to RCA all it will do is take one of the sides. I have the exact same problem when I plug my gameboy into guitar effects pedals (which have mono output). See if the 1/8" side of your adaptor has 2 or more rings.

Works fine! I'm not familiar what it's supposed to do but it looks like everything's in order, I can open a rom and it then says it found a rom and that the rom was patched.

Dear Chippers,

Today I was trying to fire up my trusty old LSDPatcher (latest version) and when I select an instance it just goes to an empty screen and freezes. I've selected different instances of lsdj, instances that used to work etc. I think I installed a new version of Java this week (java version "1.6.0_51", on mac OSX 10.6) so this could be an obvious culprit, but I'm not sure, nor am I sure whether I should downgrade.

Has anyone else had the same problem? I was looking forward to using some kits!

Thanks!
Vegas

EDIT: The program does not "hang" as such, it responds fine to commands to quit or minimize, it just doesn't show me the kits.

If anyone is seriously looking for netlabels, I've been compiling a list of them here. Each has a short description of what they are looking for.

Thanks for the list! A lot of labels I don't know, checkin' them out

1.6 is the flat blue thing,
I have 3 1.6 carts that all work really well, no problems whatsoever. Try to mail Oliver for help, he always responds quickly and is very helpful.
If you haven't done so yet, try upgrading to the latest version (1.6.3), this solved some issues with saving on one of my carts.

The comment about the note names sounds... trollish...

I'm interested!
