Thanks everyone, Round 2 starts now, so get your challenges in, please remember to put a stylistic direction/genre as well as a song title or lyrical concept, I need both.

It came out pretty great, especially considering the time spent on it. The only weak link was "Whatever You Want", but that might just be me. Good job!

I agree, I think the issue with that is that it's begging for guitar/organ on it, but I didn't have time to learn the parts.  I probably spent the most time on it of any of them, but it's a lot easier to write and record a pop song in a short time than a progressive rock song.  And yeah, it's pretty much uses my exact LSDJ setup I did on the Guillotine Factory tracks, and it gets pretty metal-y at points.

48 Hour EP Vol. 1 is finished, turned out not too bad actually, I'll likely do another one soon, but don't post any new challenges yet.

"Basically, the Shaggs wrote sweet little songs about love, cars, and goofy nonsensical crap.  It was kinda like the beach boys, but written by 14 year old girls in the 60's.  The most challenging part for you would be the music, because it defies everything you've ever known about structure and melody.  They cannot play at all.  The guitarist usually plays one note per syllable, following the vocals, but not in any scale.  The vocals change notes every syllable.  The drummer is not able to keep time.  It has a haunting vibe to it that encourages lamenting of lost childhood/innocence to the listener.

Concept is something like you sold all your belongings and took a roadtrip across Europe in order to fulfill your goal of finding the best cup of coffee. Could be instrumental or not! Alt country, epic story-telling track, game boy, some kind recorder (wooden wind instrument, to be clear), guitar and lyrics about a woman who loves a man, but has to leave because he beats on her, or drinks, or has gone crazy from years of "working the land" and it is heaps sad and everything.

It must have eight verses, no chorus, but maybe some kind of repeated phrase at the end of each verse, so the recorder can really shine.

DID I MAKE ROUND THREE?
I ask because I think you could make this song fucking amazing.

I need y'all to do me a favour again and give me song titles/lyrical concepts as well as a style/genre/some kind of direction for me to start with.  I'm not going to look at this thread until tomorrow and then I will use the first 5 usable ideas.  Please try to be creative with your ideas and hopefully have them be something I haven't really done before.  Also, the goal of this is to write new original material, so no covers (people seem to like to ignore this) or anything of the like.

Once I'm finished recording them, i'll post them up for people to hear in a .zip.
