Thanks everyone, Round 2 starts now, so get your challenges in, please remember to put a stylistic direction/genre as well as a song title or lyrical concept, I need both.

it is amazing. Im on my third straight listen.
and you helped!
It came out pretty great, especially considering the time spent on it. The only weak link was "Whatever You Want", but that might just be me. Good job!
I agree, I think the issue with that is that it's begging for guitar/organ on it, but I didn't have time to learn the parts. I probably spent the most time on it of any of them, but it's a lot easier to write and record a pop song in a short time than a progressive rock song. And yeah, it's pretty much uses my exact LSDJ setup I did on the Guillotine Factory tracks, and it gets pretty metal-y at points.

I've selected these five ideas:
make a surfy insturmental thunderbirds-esqe theme about a super group who goes around the world trying to prove that obama isnt a us citizen.
but with LYRICS
Song title: Birthday Cake for the Pope
Lyrical concepts: Gregorian chant, in latin (EDIT: latin is optional. You may also use Hebrew, Greek, or Old English. Or at least some archaisms.)
style: Amen breaks
Style: 70's Funk
Lyrics: Go for something along the lines about how you were chasing a girl you were in love with, until you finally figured out that you are actually related, and the it just got really awkward between the two of you.
Style: Chip Prog Rock... the more different time signatures the better.
Lyrics: Use http://watchout4snakes.com/CreativityTo graph.aspx and http://watchout4snakes.com/CreativityTo tence.aspx to generate them all. Feel free to put whatever you want in the boxes!Edit: Extra points if you run some of those phrases through http://www.translationparty.com/ too
a torch song called "Miles 'Tails' Prower Was Too Good To Me"

Round 3 is finished, I'll be taking a break for a bit to record a "real" album, but I'll be resuming this once I'm finished.
48 Hour EP Vol. 3
1. Probably
2. T Is For Text
3. Steely Don
4. Dog
5. Woven Nest

Round 3:
Song for a children's show. Teaching kids proper txt msg etqte lol >_<
I will resubmit this with more info...of course I don't expect you to take it up
"Basically, the Shaggs wrote sweet little songs about love, cars, and goofy nonsensical crap. It was kinda like the beach boys, but written by 14 year old girls in the 60's. The most challenging part for you would be the music, because it defies everything you've ever known about structure and melody. They cannot play at all. The guitarist usually plays one note per syllable, following the vocals, but not in any scale. The vocals change notes every syllable. The drummer is not able to keep time. It has a haunting vibe to it that encourages lamenting of lost childhood/innocence to the listener.
Genre: 60s & 70s Italian Soundtracks
ex:Concept is something like you sold all your belongings and took a roadtrip across Europe in order to fulfill your goal of finding the best cup of coffee. Could be instrumental or not! (if it does have vocals, I'd love to hear some harmonies in this style: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31kTjszwaDc )
Alt country, epic story-telling track, game boy, some kind recorder (wooden wind instrument, to be clear), guitar and lyrics about a woman who loves a man, but has to leave because he beats on her, or drinks, or has gone crazy from years of "working the land" and it is heaps sad and everything.
It must have eight verses, no chorus, but maybe some kind of repeated phrase at the end of each verse, so the recorder can really shine.
DID I MAKE ROUND THREE?
I ask because I think you could make this song fucking amazing.
Write a love song for my girlfriend ... only you haven't met my girlfriend.
48 Hour EP Vol. 2
1. Bring Back My Horse
2. Maison Acide
3. May Not Comply
4. Fighting Food With Fire
5. "Best Friends" (The Musical)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Round 2:
Genre: Blues.
Lyrics: Sing about how you had a girlfriend and a horse, and you loved that horse more than anything, and then your girlfriend left you and took your horse with her, and now you have nothing and you don't want her back, just the horse.
Genre: Acid House
edit: in 7/8
second edit: vocoded vocals about being at a wine and cheese rave
third edit: at the end of the song someone puts GHB all over the caviar so it
slows
down
to
40
BPM
J. Arthur Keenes vs The Establishment
raucous thrash punk rock
Genre: New Wave of British Heavy Metal
Lyrics: Sing about how much you love making toast.
Genre: Musical (the genre word I chose may not be perfect, so interpret it how you like)
Lyrics: You and your best hometown friends write a song together about how you all met each other and the funniest times you've had together.edit: oh and you all have to sing together
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
48 Hour EP Vol. 1
1. It Ain't Hawaii (Citizenship Enforcement Squad theme)
2. Birthday Cake for The Pope
3. Incestuous Union
4. Whatever You Want
5. Miles "Tails" Prower Was Too Good To Me
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Round 1:

a torch song called "Miles 'Tails' Prower Was Too Good To Me"
I need y'all to do me a favour again and give me song titles/lyrical concepts as well as a style/genre/some kind of direction for me to start with. I'm not going to look at this thread until tomorrow and then I will use the first 5 usable ideas. Please try to be creative with your ideas and hopefully have them be something I haven't really done before. Also, the goal of this is to write new original material, so no covers (people seem to like to ignore this) or anything of the like.
Once I'm finished recording them, i'll post them up for people to hear in a .zip.
