Imaginary Friend isn't a very well-known folk song though, and Radix is still alive, so it's pretty different.
It wasn't the best example, but you get the idea.

Pretty much every one of their chart songs has elements ripped from other songs. It pisses me off every time they play a new one on the radio I can hear stuff from other songs. At first I thought it was a fluke, but as it's happened so many times, they are clearly just ripping little bits from other songs and hoping nobody notices (which so far no one has).
Competition : Have a listen and see how many you can hear
is that really plagiarism (the whole use or close imitation)?
A personal example, I recently wrote a track called 'OutBrk' which used a couple of leads based on radix's 'imaginary friend', if I had literally copied every single bassline, chord, lead and drum pattern from that track in a section, that would be plagiarism. As it was the track is at a different bpm, groove, and the lead is surrounded by completely different notes. Someone could say 'hey that sounds kinda like...' but not 'whoa that's totally ripping off xxxx'.
I know of many songs that have 'little bits' taken (read: inspired) by other songs, and there's only so many scales you can use in pop music, eventually it's all going to get rehashed.
I would love it if USK did a cover of that miley cyrus song and just said "FUCK!" every few lines.
Can someone get him to do that?
generally, you don't need to ask him to say fuck in the middle of a sentence
I prefer prosound, it's clean and loud enough you don't have to boost the gain reducing quality. I record through a sound interface into ableton live and apply different eq/fx depending on what style of music i'm making.
if it means enough to have it on you for the rest of your life, go for it.

Post it somewhere else.
way to go with that community spirit! Is there no room for discussion on our lives outside of music here?
KGHB are amazing live, a very 'visual' performance with lots of crowd interaction and sense of humour.
Portalenz are my absolute fave, no-one can mix gameboy tracks as well as those guys, it's very interesting to watch but also as chip disco goes, the energy and music is what this scene is all about for me.
very excited to get my hands on this!
HALLY!
loving the clearboy painted inside, very interesting!
awesome flyer thetris!
netsky - 'smile'
this guy's going to be massive this year - can't wait to catch a set
Seems like the KRK Rokits are being widespread among us... I may be considering getting a pair but am not sure 100%
I'd recommend testing a pair out if at all possible, if you want more bass extension get the 6's (or 8's!) - lately mine seem to have loosened up a little but when I first got them I wasn't as impressed as the reviews suggested I would be.
Then again, chipmusic sounds great on them
I'm so used to the start and select buttons being at the bottom of the machine (inbetween both thumbs) that the original gba design is out of the question for me, sp or micro is the way to go
yeah I got into this at the back end of last year, I found the best track was the one from the trailer - the game is also woefully underplayed
Hey! i've been really busy over the weekend but i've recompiled everything and added the new tracks - just need some webspace which i'm looking into now.
Shit is brutal as fuck. I have not mentioned this in another thread. You're lucky we have these mp3 tags.
breakdown blows my mind
