Use the minor/major pentatonic scales. Cheat scales for musical success.

I hate trackers. I said it. Come at me. I can take you all.

pure data is like max msp but less bull$hit. I love free open source software, especially if it can run on really cheap devices. It feels great to use such democratic tools. And besides that, It's a superb piece of software that has a wide area of use and is generally just good to know!
I use it for many, many things. Mostly for making algorithmic music and visuals with the built-in GEM library.

Yeah PD is fantastic.

This is pretty neat.

Same reason I don't get upset at OGRemix for not allowing chipmusic.

Actually OCRemix (if you mean OCRemix) does accept chipmusic, at least some chipmusic. I remember there being a pretty heated thread about it. The rule was there to discourage those super rad '8-bit' MIDI-rips.

Don't know if this is helpful or not, but I found this in my uni library the other day, pretty good fun:

Aside from their terrible website with images that look like they were cut out in MSPaint, these guys have some pretty great gear.

The Boss BX4s were basically this. Tiny little stereo mixers that run on a 9V battery.

Crazy useful too.

So they're either brilliant smugglers or the prison service is getting really friendly.

Snapped some of these up for a project I'm working on.

Nice one Kitsch!

So, by your own definition, FMYNTH music could be created entirely without FM synthesis?

Pan guitars like crazy and dont let the fucking cymbals and crashes and hihats mess with the overall mix.

OP's about live mixing, dood.

Yeah, like everyone else said, bandpass it. Roll off the high end as it can get a bit piercing and, unless you're using the GB for bass, I'd probably roll off on the low too.

Is the GB primarily rhythm, lead, percussive, or all three?
