I definitely don't really like trackers at all. I'm most comfortable in a piano roll. But if I need to use a tracker in order to play on the real chips, I will first compose in a DAW to choose my note selection and phrasing, and then I transfer it to whatever medium that will allow me to run it on the real hardware. For example, I use ppMCK to make nsfs, but before I go punching notes into an MML text editor, I will have already composed it in ableton using Midines.

haha, this is exactly my workflow.

but with FL.

I've found it only hangs when there's a long sequence of overlapping notes. If you make sure there's a small break between each note, no hang.

Or, rather than break up every note, phrase passages and arps in smaller chunks.

edit: oh, right, you've said there's no overlap. badtimes.

^^^ This. I've always bought from Kitsch's store however I know the other US sellers regularly ship here.

You could always get components from Maplins, or http://www.bitsbox.co.uk/ are pretty cheap and ship same day (if you order early).

Not gonna lie, I have too much fun digging through computer music's sample packs and finding the like three sounds you just want to use immediately.

word

I've used MIDINES in the past for this kinda thing. Easy(ish) to do with a DAW.

I dont understand this party of numbers you guys got in there.

My favourite tempo is allegro, altho i like presto for filling drums and shit.

Extreme rubato.

Tempo needs to be specified by note duration. 130 quarter notes per minute, with the composition divided into quarter notes, ends up fast-ish. 130 whole notes per minute, with the composition subdivided into quarter notes, ends up damn fast.

Picked up this GBP from a pawn shop for £10 a couple of months ago.

Was that pawn shop CashConverters by any chance? They had some GBPs for £9.99 the other day and would not drop their price.

That low-poly stuff is fucking gorgeous.
