if you dont feel prepared to play live, you shouldnt feel any huge need to do so...do you know how long a set theyd expect? you should probably only do it if you have at least 2-4 times as much chip stuff you have written that you'd feel like playing live
or, you could write a set just for the gig.. go super minimal and find a way to squeeze a lot of minutes worth of tracks out of a single save ..

most of my releases are over 25 minutes... id just blame the single-track mindset... not many like taking the time to have 8-15 tracks done in a way that feels like they really all belong together, can be quite a bit of work and leads to throwing out many tracks that you might even like, but just dont fit what that album is meant to be...

id offer to write descriptions but for two things: i'd have to listen to every chip release & i'm sure i'd offend most of the artists by being far too blunt

well, if youre getting the percussion the way you like, could always just make some percussion only tracks until you feel inspired to write basslines, melodies, etc
