Oh man, atom purple DMG would be SO AWESOME! Kitsch, ASM, nudge-nudge!

How come the text is blue as well? I thought that the text stayed whatever colour it was on the DMG before it was dyed, or have I misunderstood something?

One of my main confusions with this case. I suppose that the dye/paint must have seeped into the text as well, unless there's some sort of uber-rare-blue-text-clearboy out there.

Thanks for the quick responses, guys! Now, if it weren't to goddamn impossible to find X-Metals around where I live...

In checking out various LSDJ-oriented DMGs on eBay recently, I came across this one with a blue shell: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Game-Boy-Dmg-Cl … 1336798762
I immediately assumed it was an ASMretro shell. However, then I noticed the fact that the "Nintendo GAME BOY tm" branding is still below the screen, which is not on an ASM boy. In addition, the model number area is populated with stock information rather than being completely blank. Finally, the serial number is there, seemingly printed on a custom transparent label (though it may just be a reflection of the rest, difficult to tell).
I would guess that it was a clear case made blue via RIT or X-metals. However, the text would be either black or pink, depending on the DMG, and I doubt either color would dye the lettering as is present here.
I would ask the seller, but I have no eBay account yet. Does anyone know who made the case for this gameboy, or how it was painted?

Anamanaguchi has come to PGH twice, and one time I mentioned LSDJ to someone and they almost knew what it was. So.....nearly nonexistent.

Why did I pre-order Pokemon X and Y yesterday?!?! Now I'm missing out on some of the sweetest cases I've ever seen in my life!

For stripped screws, I've been told that you can put a rubber band over the tip of a screwdriver to give it more grip on the stripped screw. I've gotten it to work on some big screws in an NES before, good luck with the gameboy's tiny screws...

I've been planning to pre-order both, along with getting one of the LE XY 3DS XLs (Jeez, that's a lot of abbreviations...). But, today when I stepped into my local thrift store, I left $50 poorer, but with a pristine DMG CIB.

If I do manage to pre order them and get a 3DS in time, I'll totally do a 24-hour marathon to finish the game in one day ^_^

Personally, I suck at making chipmusic. I give it my best shot, but I never really get anywhere. I listen to a lot of what is put up here, because I love the sound of 8-bit. I love seeing new developments in the community, from (any username here) releasing a new album, kitsch announcing a new piece of DIY gear, to thursdaycustoms/8bitastetics/timbob/etc. showing off a sick new DMG. However, I suppose that I contribute most to the community by doing mods and stuff than I do for actual chiptunes.
Also, very slightly:

I'll just leave this here...

OH. MY. GOD. Bottom-left. I consider it a sin to taint the appearance of a whiteboy. I WAS WRONG, that is honestly the greatest DMG I've ever seen. Well done, Timbob. Well done.

My camera is being an asshole, so I can't post any pictures of my best find (though if it DOES decide to work, I'll edit this post to include pics ^_^)
I never expected any curbside pickups where I live, as I've never seen more than an n64 sports game in my local thrift store before. However, on my way back from school once, I found a box with 2 NES, 1 SNES, 1 Genesis mod. 2, the box for a Genesis mod. 1 (with paperwork, posters, sonic NFR cart, but no model 1 console), an NES styled PS2 controller, and all hookups and cables I should ever need. Oh wait, almost forgot the blue MGB that was in the box, with AC and rechargeable battery.

Everything was absolutely filthy, and took me HOURS to clean and fix all of them, but they all work great!

Nice to see that we are the one corner of the Internet doing something other than raging about this! Personally, I think that it looks much more like a kids toy than anything from the DS line. As the 2ds is intended mostly for children (as shown in the promo when the kid has a 2ds and the dad had a 3ds), it's perfect! Plus, it does look like it would be sweet to have several modules of these for DS10 purposes!
Though to be honest, I initially thought it was a joke that someone spammed to get onto the front page of google, and I DID gag a little when I first saw what it looked like.

So far, I have had no problems with the density backlight whatsoever. However, today after a sudden rapid encounter with the floor, the far left LED on my backlight turns off now and then. It turns back on if I squeeze the case near it, but it's never permanent. Is there any way of fixing this?
