Re: Welcome to CM.O! (Introduction Thread) (676 replies, posted in General Discussion)
Hello!
I'm not super great at introductions, but I'm Xenothral. I'm pretty awful at making anything musically so far, I mostly just futz around in MilkyTracker and make stuff that sounds bad and then not save it, but I guess most everything starts with experimentation, right?
I don't have anything really neat to show you all, sadly, since most of my time is spent playing games rather than trying to make sweet music.
More than likely I'll be lurking around instead of actually engaging in conversation, but if I have any questions I'll ask them for sure.
Wow! You have the exact same workflow as me Try to make some super awesome music ~ fail ~ play games instead ~ try again tomorrow!
If you feel a bit stuck/uninspired, join a comp, they happen frequently and force you to focus.
Welcome to cm.o, learn as much as you can from the members (they are kind, mostly), and have FUN!

Re: complementary software to LSDJ on same USBcard ? (5 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
okay, I edited the previous post to try to explain what everything does.
I'm pretty sure they all fit, but if you don't want them all on there, try them in an emulator first, and decide which ones you find useful.
Your project sounds like fun, can't wait to hear what you guys sound like.

Re: complementary software to LSDJ on same USBcard ? (5 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
You can and should have all of the following in the second bank:
Trip World (because you CAN game on a Gameboy)
Nanoloop 1.3 demo (for laying down improv beats, can be fun for "jamming" with other musicians)
rez (synth thing)
shitwave (noise generator, for making noise)
muddyGB (let's you play notes in a scale, "live" GB music)
Ikinari bopper/nerdrix (similar to muddy, but moves up and down scales, 80's guitar solo style)
Pounder ("live" drum thing, lots of fun)
Edit: explaining what everything does, more or less

Topic: Looking for GB/GBA Pokemon games (3 replies, posted in Trading Post)
I find myself in NEED of some Pokemon action, and unfortunately I'm stuck in a country where NOTHING was released in English.
I'm looking to trade for WORKING, ENGLISH Pokemon games for Gameboy, Gameboy Color, or Gameboy Advance.
I don't want to trade all of these items, and as soon as I get some Pokemans, I'm removing all remaining items from this thread, so if you want anything, act quickly.
What I have available is the following:
~ Gameboy Pocket(console), internal prosound, and completely refurbished with a brand new yellow shell, no dead lines
~ CT Special Forces: Back To Hell(GBA)
~ Mario Party Advance(GBA)
~ Grand Theft Auto Advance(GBA), works great, but the label is missing (if you need, I can print up a new one)
If anybody is interested, PM me, or just reply below.

Read this:
http://umlautllama.com/Audio/theory/theory.html
All (?) the scales at the bottom of the page is in C, but to change the key of the scale, just increase/decrease all the notes with the same amount of semitones.

LSDJ & LGPT, they are fun and functionally identical.
nanoloop, VERY user friendly and pretty cool for hip-hop/trip-hop type beats
Deflemask, this one is underrated, and I cannot understand why.

So, did this thread solve all your problems? Do you feel better now that you got it off your chest? Did all the digital high-fives and bro hugs change anything?
edit: and for the record, I defend NOBODY, I just think that shit like this is a waste of these forums.
