you get ONE 'for sale' thread.

you can alter the title of the thread by editing the first post.

i'm going to close the other one you started.  you can report the info here.  its a standing rule, not singling you out wink

i know this sounds a bit much, but try yet another usb cable if you've got one.  totally different brand.  the fit among different types can be quite different.

another thing which may be the root of both: if there is a mistake in the driver installation, you've basically got to delete the files and start from scratch.  i think its the digitally signing bit thats the cause for this, but if the install fails starting over is always the way to go.  this has been my experience at least.

also, re: the installation, restart your comp between all the major steps of the process.  your system registry and all that is updated then.  a hard reboot, not a restart.

since your issues are the same in both carts, look to the commonalities that exist among the two.  the drivers, the software install, the cable, the usb port (don't use a hub!), the ROMs you are flashing (LSDJ must be by itself on the menu), things like this.  to have two different carts have the same issues, from two suppliers, probably from two different batches, is pretty weird.

i was asked to post a pic of my lsdj hoodie (this is how i had it done), so maybe i should actually do that...  i'll post here too, its a great example.

spreadshirt contacted me about it before they did the hoodie, they wanted me to verify everything because they thought it was a mistake and i wouldn't be satisfied with the way it turned out (if it was intentional).

yes, black on black is about the best thing i've seen in a while.   i've thought about doing the kb shirts like this so many times.

cool, thanks for the heads up!

MicroD, your stickers have arrived wink

i was thinking magic, thats funny

check out the page i linked to above, there is a tutorial on this page you can check out.

if you've never soldered before, this is actually a decent project to learn with.  some of the caps are harder to reach than others, but all are manageable.  if you did your backlight without getting dead lines, this should be no problem.

two things to remember when doing caps: some types are polarized (these are), meaning you can't just stick them in, but they have a + and - leg.  so, pay attention to that.  the other is that heat will kill your cap, so only solder as much as needed to get a nice flow.  then back off.

that tutorial i think will answer your questions on its ease though, or lack of it depending on your skill level.

capacitor replacement.  probably.

duh.  i'm still stuck in old timey cart mindset tongue

on that note, i'll just load the thumbdrive up with all the ROMs i can find.

email me savs, who(m)ever wants to!  and i'll have them there waiting for you.

due to a bad virus experience, don't stick thumbdrives into my computer.  email me the savs.  smile

oh yeah then you could run a version that envelope filter mod without an adaptor, which would be RAD.

not quite, the pots and pushbuttons for that kit stick out the sides.  takes up the whole battery compartment, and sticks out from there (drilled through)

i do know adding 1/4" jacks are going to be pretty straightforward though.  the power supply PCB is still in the way on that left side, but with a little relocation you've got two totally open (and squared off) ends.  the curved corner on the original cases was really the main stone in my shoe.  it looked nice in the design, i just constantly found myself needing that little bit of space.

i think you'll still have the same issue with the envelope filter though, regardless of if batteries could fit in those spaces.  with the pots and buttons sticking through, not much can fit really.

is there a chance of any of these showing up at blip NY somehow?

i'll have one for demo at the KB table, come by and check it out!  just got that worked out wink

if anybody wants to test their own personal sav in the machine, email it to me and i'll put them on a usb drive and bring it along (will have a netbook on hand).  you can playback your own sav on a derp then.  or not, whatever.   unless otherwise requested (and still maybe not then unless a bunch of people ask), it'll be 4.6.2_stable on the cart.  maybe that matters to your sav...

if you send a sav, tell me your forum name as well, i'll name them by this (bryface.sav, whatever).  you can just tell me who you 'are' and it'll make things easier.   i want your forum name, may get double real names.

you can send them to matt/kitsch-bent/com

hands-on derp!

very interested, awaiting details wink

there really isn't such a thing as a limited run of a structural change with injection molding...  it'd require a new mold outright.

but, i'm listening.  for the future.  to be quite honest, there is another pretty huge project happening which is for sure the priority.  i do write all this stuff down though in a notebook, so its good to get the comments on this.

no shutting up, i appreciate the feedback wink  as long as its constructive and not piss-potish, i love it.

and thanks everyone for it.  please come by the blipfest booth, get hands-on with one, and tell me your thoughts!

oh, re: the insides of the case, in some areas things couldn't be changed because a lot of what is inside is required the way the case is built, or they are the stand-offs for the PCB.  squaring off the corner is the biggest internal structural change obviously, the actual dimensions of the case are sort of restricted because the PCB, unless you created breakouts for the various thumbwheels, link port, power switch, etc...  which is ridiculous and starts the snowball.  you could balloon out the bottom area around the batteries, similar to the shape of a mega duck/cougar boy, but when i sketched it out it looked very, very bad.

this looks like a lot of fun!
