Is pocket music made for the GB or GBC? If it is made for the GBA, I don't believe that the Smart Card supports that...

^ this

have you tried renaming the file type just for curiousity's sake?  try naming it *.gbc

inter-scene-support

love it

yes, this is normal.

if you are in menu 1, to get into menu 2 do this:  turn the console OFF then back ON very quickly.

if you are in menu 2, to get into menu 1 do this: turn the console off, let it sit unpowered for 10-15 seconds, then turn it back on

the LED on the cart indicates which menu you are in.

menu 1 = no LED
menu 2 = the green LED comes on

i've gotten quite a few emails concerning the smartboy team and their ability to ship in a timely manner (if at all).  i have no idea if they've fixed this issue or not (and, tbh, people often email me with their general complaints which is fine).  just wanted to throw that out their if you are still considering them.

if they offer different shipping options, go with the one which has international tracking so you'll know whats up

make sure you aren't confusing bit and byte.  thats the most common mistake when you get the memory warning prompt

put one in menu 1, and the other in menu 2 and that should solve the issue for ya

(its referring to space available in that menu, not the sav file, unless you are getting a warning i'm not familiar with)

you don't really know, preemptively, when the battery is low.  most people notice when their sav data shows signs of corruption in some way.

***the golden rule*** ALWAYS back up after you've done anything in your project which you'd not want to go back and repeat, just in case.

even with a brand new battery, you could perhaps drop the cart and the battery come loose, then poof!

HEADS UP EVERYBODY ----

with the holidays coming up quick, ***if you need gifts to arrive before pretty soon, make sure to get your order in***  the post runs a bit slow from here on out

ALSO!!!!!!  IF YOU WANT TO DIRECT YOUR PARENTS TO THE SITE FOR GIFTS, THEY ARE FREE TO CONTACT ME, I'M MORE THAN HAPPY TO WALK THEM THROUGH THE PROCESS

i get "my son/daughter wants a cart with LSDJ on it" emails a lot, i'm perfectly cool with helping them out.

i know the old farts have no clue.  i'm fine with the emails

let your folks know, if this helps out at all...

if my manufacturer hadn't delayed the order being sent, i'd be able to say this right now:

the future is now

i guess, for the moment:

the future is nigh

this thread has many high-quality pictures which may help you in your quest: http://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/12226 … artridges/

many people have listed the ROM they used, they shouldn't be hard to find a datasheet for

you'll notice, there is always going to be some amount of hook-up wire involved with altering a 'factory' cartridge PCB to work in the manner you wish.  its an unavoidable element of what you are trying to do.  without knowing the pinout of the game cart you would like to use, there is no way to suggest to you an appropriate replacement which requires the least amount of work.

the answer to your question is in reading through a whole lot of datasheets, you're being cryptic enough about your project to where its frustrating the people who are trying to help you out (to be blunt...  there isn't a 100% compatible drop-in OTP prom out there which requires zero thinking or re-routing).  it takes a lot (a lot a lot a lot) of time and energy and patience and reading, its just how electronics projects work.

i doubt you'll find someone to do it for you, especially for a DIY (y=yourself) project.

a very appropriate answer has already been given in this thread.   it would behoove you to google the part # and read the datasheet, and then decide for yourself whether it will work for your project.  since we have no idea what it is you're doing, there is only so much advice anyone here can give.
