This is an impressive piece of work.
Add me, I'll put something together with Ableton.
just saying, you guys should order this because aaron put a hell of a lot of time into it and he's just about ready to give up on this whole thing, and in a lot of the same ways i am. i cant say i blame him after the shit we've been through with our time in making music.
Maybe the whole giving music away for free thing doesn't really work in the long run?
Generally stuff just doesn't sell on wiiware unless it's castlevania or the bit trip games. Or Tetris.
This is a total myth, and it's sad that the games industry really thinks this. The truth of the matter is that most Wiiware games are garbage, and they don't sell well because they are garbage, not because they are on Wiiware. The good games have seen strong sales on Wiiware... World of Goo, Megaman 9 & 10, Lost Winds, etc. These are all 3rd party games too. It's a great service for those companies that are willing to give it an honest effort and market their games properly.

I mean have you seen it? That shit looks crisp as fuck. It would look like garbage on the DS, honesty.
but come on, at least make your not-high-res pixellated game for wiiware. reach the largest amount of people that way (people like me, who only have a wii and regret it a lot).
I only have a Wii and a DS and I don't regret it one bit. I have great games for both systems, and enough multiplayer games for when my friends come over. I don't really care that I'll miss out on this game, it's just a game. If anything, Ubisoft missed out on some serious profit potential.

Actually CD-Text is what I'm talking about. Looks like it's more universal than I thought though, in the sense that it's a readily usable extension to the Red Book standard, enjoying limited native hardware or software support, leaving it arcane enough that it's almost never used. Unless you drive an Opel apparently.
I still don't know what you are talking about! I burn CDs all the time and all the metadata shows up in my Honda Fit, as well as on my Sony stereo system, thanks to CD Text. On the other hand, most CDs are tagged when we put them in our computers by comparing the track lengths with a remote database like Gracenote or Freebase, which is sadly much more reliable than hoping anything like CD Text is put to good use. For a new, indie release like Decades, there usually isn't an entry in these databases... for shame, really.
CDs don't support metadata or embedded artwork, they never have.
[Disclaimer to smartass-proof this post: with the exception of that one short-lived subtype of enhanced CDs that needed specially-equipped players capable of reading the track title metadata.]
You are still wrong. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CD-Text
Just annoying though because the CD didn't have the ID3 tags or album art embedded.
Ditto... I'm guessing this was Amazon's fault?
whoops.

Because it's a huge commercial failure.
I hope there's a DSiWare version... anything on the DSi or the Wii so I can play this.
Anyway, I am a bit tired of Paul Robertson already, it's good but it's the same thing over and over again
If you want to make money as an artist this is pretty much the only way to do it... find a style that people will pay money for and keep selling that style 'til you die. The music industry isn't very different.
I'm wondering how No Carrier feels about the use of GlitchNES aesthetics in the game, during the teleport areas.

lol. isn't that sugar? he's posing being silly for the video. note the lack of cart..
we could nit pick the video but considering it's of higher production quality than most shit release by chip artists and there's a bad ass /funny video to go along with it... i'm all for it!
Heh, I was being sarcastic. I love Sugar. I think videos like this make it pretty clear that the rest of us aren't trying hard enough.
