Hello!

So, My arduinoboy suddenly stopped working with midi out.
The symptoms:
Master clock out still works. lights flash in rhythm and drum machine follows happily.
midi out gives no flashing lights when sending midi notes (on neither of the 4 channels)
the push button has a hard time cycling through the steps. (goes fine from 1 (slave) to 7 (midi out) but then stops. I can only get it to the next program if i push it while booting the gameboy)

I reflashed my lsdj, and updated the arduinoboy code to the latest version, resoldered some wires. but still nada.

Don't know where to start looking as well.. any help/tips?

p.s. I did work at some time in the past, but I haven't used it in a while. it had some rough times, and i had to replace a resistor that broke off, but other than that, it should work..

What are you planning to do with midi and lsdj? because the midi functionality is quite limited.

it's mainly midi sync (for drumcomputers / ableton)
and some basic start/stop & channel on of commands.

You can play notes with midi, but you can't program lsdj via midi..

And

To get you started

Well... no.

But first, what are your plans with pads?
You could add a midi keyboard to lsdj. But you'll need an arduinoboy, or a USB/midi device by the nanoloop guy.

Plugging USB midi equipment straight into a gameboy will not work. The gameboy doesn't do USB...

Do a search on arduinoboy here on the forum to get you started.

That's the only other option I'm aware of

Usb-midi is not real midi sad so you can sync it with a midi drummachine...

If you have another usb midi device you can.

I once made a small series of wooden Dpads and A/B buttons.
They looked cool as well..
Bit shifter even bought a set (namedropping ftw)

I'll see if I still have some photo's

I don't think it really an error, more like a feature.

Don't know if it's a good one tho. It kinda defeats the point where we tell every new guy to use the search before starting a new thread.

well, that one got sold fast big_smile

Omg, that's like so 16bit.

But seriously, it's cool smile

Ok, this might not be a gb program persee. But a tool to rename lsdj instruments, copy paste between songs, renumber chains etc. on a pc (or mac) would be epic awesomesauce...

Especially the ability to merge 2 songs would help greatly big_smile

Does it also mix other genres? or just disco.

@Timbob - I looked high and low online for aftermarket catridges like your green 150-in-1 cart, but couldn't find any. Any suggestions or resources on finding carts like that? It looks great.

My guide again tongue

Well, I found one by accident. I look on trading sites almost daily, and sometimes they just pop up.
Some sites will let you search with advanced options. You could search for something like
Gameboy "In 1"
you get a lot of 10 / 50 / 1000 in 1 carts that way in all kinds of strange shapes.

Everything I touch becomes official.
