A different approach to this would be to offer paid accounts with extra features, but what would those extra features be, and how do you avoid making the site less open in doing so?

Sightly larger avatars. Blargg.

Very cool, but you're right about the discription; A lot of past-tense verbs. Had, worked, played. Won't last long in any case.

I'm interested to see what the results would be. you might be able to clock the audio separate from video? this seems actually advantageous as far as kooky software/glitches

Yes, the clock inputs are separated from a single source. In most cases, the two processors remain in sync with the PPU running at a constant fraction of the CPU. There have been many successful PPU overclocks, but the CPU or 2a03 is unaffected and therefore the sound is unaffected.

I want to say that the main clock could be sped up, therefore keeping the two in sync. I haven't done any such mod yet and don't know how hot the ICs might run at higher speeds.

Winner winner! Completely forgot about that one. big_smile
I would like to work on a music program for the SNES in the future, though I cannot see myself talking it much farther than a proof of concept ROM.

Bump, I wanted more input from you Apeshit.
There is no such word as unfavorable when it comes to custom and expressive audio, but are you suspecting there would be software crashes?

the rare "unicorn" white model sold for  $1375.00.....

how much of that went to trash80?

There is no mistaking it, trash got nothing. Trash was contacted with such a proposition though. The code is distributed freely and a hundred other people sell arduinoboys, never with so much as a mention of trash.

Aside, the code has been modified to accommodate extra features and expanded. Trash didn't care and nobly moved on to future work. There have been claims against trash's credit.

As for the non-boutique looks, whatever that means, these feel good and sound good. What more can ayou ask for in a musical instrument? Half of the grunge-boys passing through here are boutique?

That's fine. Yeah, the uno has a socketed atmega which can be wired up externally as soon as you have it programmed, which you obviously do.

What kind of arduino d you have? I want to say yes, you may remove it and build it into an enclosure without the arduino but you have to make sure you attach a clock source since it will be relying on the clock built into your arduino.

I just want to point out that having no shell on a cart is not the pinnacle of gameboy innovation. Call me the devil's advocate, but seriously.
