yo yo yo, whuddup y'aaalll

Anyway, I've been plundering the Nicholas Colin Handmade Electronic music book (awesome btw, if you don't own it, get it.. like now) Anyway, I've been trying to work on a 4017 based gate volume sequencer thingy. I've been playing around to now avail, I can get a nice 8-step LED chain going, but and a bit stumped as to how to get the on/off signals to my volume pots. Can anyone offer this electronics noobie a hand?

Here is a working example of what I'm aiming for (though my messages to the author have gone unanswered)

Thanks for any help!

well blow me down. You sir are a gent. Now wheres ebay got to.. i need me some cables....

I maybe really wrong on this, but if you are looking for a GBA Micro to sync NL with drum machines etc, its better to go for the SP, as I have never ever found a link cable or adapter for the Micro. I've seen them online on the Nintendo shop etc, but its us only and I've no idea if they are still available.

It is awesome looking at all these set ups! got me wondering though, mostly as I've not yet rolled out my 'in the works' live setup, is there anything that *needs* to be present to get a good sound over to the sound guy then to the PA ( or straight to the PA). I thinking of things like DI-boxes etc. sort of an open question though really.

That's awesome. I don't disagree that everything should be kept simple, just for my own selfish needs as I don't run a laptop in my setup, but love the sound of this little thing mwah smile great job smile

just wondering aloud, but will there be a 'stand alone' version that doesn't need a PC/mac to run? Still, it looks like a sweet ass piece of gear, I'd love to get me mits on one at some point

on the go i always have me SP and nanoloop on me, perfect for lunchtime noodles. At home its all about me guitar and maybe the MPC500

damn, if you had asked 2 weeks ago I would have been very much down, as it stands I managed to build my own and I'm proud to say its my first proper working circuit... It is very very useful though, I just wish I hadn't painted the thing pink...

ooh lovely, might hunt that down!

pretty nice article. The guy seems to at least care about the music and the way its made, not a bad thing at all.

I never had much of his music, but damn, 'About Her' off the Kill Bill soundtrack (I never found which album it was off originally) with The Zombies samples was a great piece of trip-hoppy goodness.

really need a better mixer, thinking of a xenyx 1002 fx... otherwise i love my setup, it all works in sync....

big shout for Deltron 3030, that lp was like Gorillaz before Gorillaz. Plus it has Kid Koala doing DJ work, he's my (and my mums) favorite DJ.
