do you think it could be possible to get a dump of the old forum?

Today was released my "One-myth" album.

Louder than Death Metal, rawer than Black Metal, darker than Chiptune, it was composed entirely for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum beeper.

You can get it there: https://garvalf.bandcamp.com/ (for free)

thank you for this app, I don't use windows so it's great to be able to backup and transfer data using my android tablet!

I think a subforum here would be good enough: this forum is great, good-looking, and in addition it would give more visibility to 1-bit music so it's all benefit. Of course a new forum elsewhere would be good too.

I'm still curious to learn what happened. Last time I was on the forum, a girl came with a well designed composition and began to complain because she thought it wasn't cool to welcome her like "it's great to see you, it's not often girls are making chiptunes" (she seemed to be a kind of feminist / marxist). So I guess things went worse after that moment.

if it's not deleted, then it should be possible to put it online again, at least in read-only if the main administrator doesn't want to maintain it any longer?

I'd like to know too. Who is the admin responsible for it?

It's a pity it disappeared because there were valuable informations about 1-bit music on it, for example tutorials from Utz / Irrlicht Project about how to make beeper engines in assembly.

Game Team: Okay bpozega, we're pretty much done with the programming. What's our projected budget for music?

bpozega: I'm thinking $0.

I guess they can also hire the webdesigner for $0.

It's great! I was looking for some html tools to use MML so I'll probably use it more soon, and it's far better than a flash application. However, I didn't manage to make it work offline. I've downloaded all the files using firefox, I get the correct interface but when I want to play nothing happens.

Otherwise, it's a convenient tool. The spectrum analysis looks great. I just think the interface could have less drop shadows and look a bit simpler.

it's great you managed to keep those songs during all those years.

My favorites are Hypnotic, N-Synth and Back In The Day. I also enjoy the Knucklebusters cover, which was (and still is) without doubt my favorite song on Atari (which I discovered on the cuddly demos) smile

I've looked further how to use MusicMon. I discovered in the amplitude waveform that green is a mix of noise and sound according to the settings in panel below the amplitude waveform while orange and white will make "pure" sound and noise (as XyNo explained earlier).

When you save, SAM is for samples (digit), while KIT is for sound kit of several instruments. I didn't manage to save an individual instrument yet and load only one.

unfortunately the 1-bit forum is down sad

really cool, you managed well to mix your own style with this "Berlin-school"...

Is there a particular reason you like to track on the real thing? We mostly just use Goattracker for convenience and use SIDplay on the C64 to record our songs for albums and all (the actual sound can't be beat by anything!!!!). So if you just want to track I recommend Goattracker and maybe getting an SD-card reader for your C64 if you want to copy files and programs, it works flawlessly!

I'm using SidWizard and I find it a bit easier to use (in an emulator) than GoatTracker, even if GoatTracker is great in itself, of course.
For my part I'm tracking in SidWizard and record it, like you, on a real C64. However, if the OP wants a cheap solution, a mp32C64 (search ebay for this) can cost only 15 € if you solder it yourself, so it's cheaper than the SD solution, even if  a bit less conveniant, first it's quite slow, and second you can't export back from the C64.

Hello,

the "Gameboy Cart Tool" is working very well, it's easy to use. I managed to get it work on Nexus 7, not on Nexus 4. Anyway, I could transfer my LSDJ projects on the cart so I can work and render it on the GB. First time LSDJ crashed (sort of "kernel panic" or "BSOD") and it corrupted some data, then I flashed it again and it seems to be ok so far. I guess we need to make several backup with LSDJ to be sure it is safe...

I hope you'll manage to find a new FPGA or a way to make this cart work again!

I haven't kept the original archive, but here is my working folder, including a makefile (for unix) and my w.i.p. :

I hope the original will get back online soon. The 1-bit music forum is offline too, I don't know what happened sad

it's nice. And a good challenge you're working on!

I didn't know GXSCC, it sounds great. Famitracker is a very good tool too, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. It's interesting also to learn to use different tools / trackers, it helps creativity.
