I still think we need to leverage Johan into decoupling LSDJ live mode from the sequencer.  If you can prelisten to a note, I guessing he can also make it so live mode doesn't have to be quantized by the sequencer. mGB is pretty sweet, but kinda blah if you don't have a powerful enough controller/computer.  Having all your LSDJ tables and instruments (working well) at your fingertips would be THE BOMB.

THIS THIS THIS. A MILLION TIMES THIS!

possibly an instrument mode that maps the instruments to program changes? who needs CCs when yew got TABLZ

/me trails off topic and dares to dream

i don't have a scienceguy8 arduino, but i have built one from Trash80's details and midi thru works fine. for example put the arduino into MGB mode, then chuck in a copy of MGB, the in socket on the arduino goes to a keyboard, the out goes on to another midi device and set the keyboard to channel 1 and start playing. the music will come out of the gameboy and the other midi device if set up properly.

in theory you could just add more midi sockets to the arduino and use the gameboy as a master clock or something like that,

Meknows how midi thru works, methinks the circuit diagram is possibly to blame, and im wondering if hardwiring off the 6n138 would work(thank you for the unnecessary spoonfeeding i suppose tongue)

if this is the same as the original arduinoboy, MIDI thru isn't MIDI thru... It's MIDI out for LSDJ master sync, that is, using LSDJ as the source clock. It's suppose to act as a MIDI thru for all other modes, but I've not tested that feature in the code for some time.

my midi out jack straight up doesnt do anything as a matter of fact (lsdj master OR thru in other modes)

based on arottenbits sound samples id say its worth it just for the added Db and removal of that garble gook cpu noise (although the hiss is still there...)
